Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I have successfully ported over 3 lines. 1 Galaxy S10, 1 Galaxy S8, 1 Iphone 7. The Galaxies are working with no issue, but my daughter has complained that since porting, her Iphone is now splitting text messages. Large messages are now randomly split and sent/received out of order. When sending and receiving to non-iphones. Is this normal on Sprint, we didn't see this on AT&T? I tried resetting the data/profile setting per the wiki, but didn't resolve the issue. I just wanted to see if others had this problem before I spend an hour on the phone with tech support, only to be told this is normal.

if you are sprint customer - no. you can't. you will have open a new acct with someone else SSN (spouse, parents, etc)

what kind of iphone? if it is IPHONE 7 or 8 then no even it is unlocked.
Run the IMEI on Sprint oneyear free website Or see wiki.

if you have sprint sim card, then you don't need.

It's not normal. Ask her to go to Settings > Messages > Toggle the "iMessage" setting from On to Off and then back On again. Do the same with the "Send as SMS" setting. Restart the phone as well to see if that helps.

Well I tried it again through the website today and it appears to have worked. No clue why I'd get errors yesterday, call and get told no then the website work first try today.

I guess the next half hour or so will be telling to see if it actually worked or not.

My first free year ended around jan 20. I told them to cancel instead of porting out. Can i reuse that phone in my name, preferably or my spouse (not preferred) or do i need to port it somewhere first

Can i bring it in for a new number instead of porting?
I just want it for data in the car. Dont care about the number

Do i open a new account, assuming i can use my name after 45 days, or reactivate the old account?

Awesome. I'm glad you read that. But you see that is the whole point. When folks say Reed Wiki that's what they expect you to do.

By the way good idea to sit down and read it. I wouldn't do it standing up

I hope you see a theme Here. Your questions are all very common. Have been asked countless of times. And the answers can be found in the Weeki. Reed Wiki

Done. Called them yesterday evening and the rep found that I was with Sprint before on the plan. Then took my passcode I used before and activated the account. SIM got shipped today overnight and will be on sprint by tomorrow.
Thanks again for your and all other folks contribution here.

Don't think so yet. A few peeps have been waiting for it to work and as of yesterday were still complaining.

As noted by iwheela, the answer is no. But, an update is expected soon from Samsung. For now, the only Note 9 that works on more than one carrier is the factory unlocked version.

The current Wiki does not say that Note 9 unqualified works. (Please do not look at the old lists archived from the past which are totally wrong - I think one did say Note 9 at one point and never was corrected, you are right to that extent - it is really sad to have old lists posted right up front that are continually misleading people). The only current list, linked to in the Wiki, says for Samsung.

Galaxy Note 8
Galaxy Note 8 Special Edition
Galaxy Note 9 Special Edition (SPH-N960U1)
Galaxy S7 Edge Special Edition
Galaxy S7 Special Edition
Galaxy S8
Galaxy S8 Special Edition
Galaxy S8+ Special Edition
Galaxy S8+
Galaxy S9
Galaxy S9 Special Edition
Galaxy S9+
Galaxy S9+ Special Edition

Note all Note 8 are eligible, but so far only Note 9 Special Edition (which is the Factory Unlocked Version - ot even gives the model number ending on U1 to be clear). Of course the Sprint model works too.

This is a Samsung restriction affecting all carriers.

let me try to help u understand:

Quote from stingygrrl :

wiki recommends best way to cancel account is to porting out. not calling. many reasons. 1st no human interaction. 2. the account (assuming 1 line) is automatically cancelled from that date. 3 if u call, the account may not be closed completely and ur 45 days may not start.

Quote from stingygrrl :
. Can i reuse that phone in my name, preferably or my spouse (not preferred) or do i need to port it somewhere first
this deal is for new customers. u r considered a new customer if u have never had sprint services or it has been 45 days since u closed account.

u can use ur name, ur spouse name

the wiki says: each and every number has to ported in
Quote from stingygrrl :

deal is for new customer.
new customers will not have account numbers.

edited: so i dont come-off like a major douchbag (just a minor one)

I have read the wiki.
It's not well written or clear, and I don't see anything about people who have closed their account. Only for porting out and in.
  1. Porting out (your final line) is closing your account, so keep that in mind when searching for answers. (e.g. in your searching replace "I canceled my account" with "I ported out" and you might have an easier time finding your answers).
  2. Porting in is required. This deal does not work with new lines.
  3. It can be you instead of your spouse so long as it has been more than 45 days since account closing.
  4. The same phone can be reused. I've exhausted the one minute wiki-reading I allotted you, so you'll have to research on whether or not the same Sprint sim can be used. I don't recall having to get new ones, though.
