Can anyone confirm if we can still add new lines to existing FREE BYOD plans. I called in yesterday and they mentioned that system is not allowing them to add new lines.
I was able to add a few weeks ago, HUCA.

MANY reps will use any excuse they can make up to convince you to add a paid line.
Many OTHER reps, on the other hand, will be happy to work with you.
This has always been the case.
So, as swammer says, HUCA, hang up and call again until you get a more helpful rep. Best vary the time of day you call.

There are posters here who had to call over a dozen times to get the International Calling offer. Adding lines to this plan is a cinch in comparison, but it still can take a few calls. Also make sure you are calling the number ending in 8777.

You can also TRY Chat (one person reported getting that to work).

By the way, never ask for permission and never ask if adding a line is "still possible". Being excessively polite is an invitation to them to say no. Instead, TELL them that you are pre-approved to add up to 5 lines at any time and that you are adding your third pre-approved line today (or second line, or whatever) today.

That sounds ok but I am a little curious because the link I posted is for the multisim kit that includes sims for ALL eligible phones. You do not specify the model. The kit covers all BYOD models. That is what is generally recommended to order because people do not have to be able to, or need to, choose the correct model to order successfully..

I guess you did something else.

Anyway, swapping is easy - I posted detailed instructions at
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=128089690&postcount=40616

AND you do not have to do it yourself at all unless you want to. You can just chat to swap.
.
I ordered the sim on saturday, even though it says it is over night shipping, they dont do it on sat-sun. Today morning i again went to apple store and they gave me free sim of sprint and than went to sprint store to activate, The Customer Rep at store was so cool, she tried herself to do sim swap but there was hold in my account, so she called sprint customer care and they said my device is stolen which i traded-in and i was laughing, but than after few it got everything ok and my sim is activiated with same plan.

Came home chat with customer rep that i dont want the sim anymore, she checked and it was shipped so i just have to refuse, in return she credited my account with 10$ credit due to this all issues and delivery.

At last i am on same plan and also got -10$, lets see my bill shouldnt change next onth, i dont have upgrades or anything.

Thanks a lot comintel for guiding me all

Yes you CANNOT use that sim as I told you!

Get the one specific to your new model from an Apple store or order the multi sim kit that has sims for all major phones for $2.99 from
https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ndent=true
Will this SIM work with S10+? The corporate store is giving me a runaround. They seem to never carry the SIM for S10+ or the SIM they give doesn't work.

Yes it will do fine,

They are confused. That is a KIT that has 4 sims in it that cover ALL phones. They do not need to give the specific sim for that phone. They can sell you the 4 in one kit which has the needed sims in it for ALL phones.. They should have the kit in stock for $2.99.

But you can just order it at that link if you want. See it usually ends up to be faster to just order it online. You would have had it by .... oh well.

Here is the sim chart:
https://s4gru.com/forums/topic/78...ity-chart/

All S10 variants take sim SIMOLW516TQ but you can order the kit and it is contained in the kit also.

This is all in the Wiki by the way.

My free service will end in September which is not too far away. What are you guys doing? Sticking with Sprint? I saw the Unlimited KickStarter plan. Does anybody know if I can call them and have them Switch over when the time comes or close to it?

No you cannot because KickStart requires a new line only..
Unless maybe Retentions would waive that.

Anyway it is better to port out and then you will get a recovery offer (see recent posts) which can include KickStart.plus service credit.

Usually not, in actual practice, and you risk losing the free plan if you go to a store.
The best plan is to "never set foot in a Sprint store," to quote Desi.

Two people here just wasted days running around in circles trying to do it that way. There is no store support for this plan.

Just order this kit of sims
https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...ndent=true
for $2.99

It supports ALL supported BYOD phones from other carriers (and most Sprint models).

First, what is the phone model and have you checked that it is eligible in the byod checker?

Then chat to swap after you get the sim. It takes one minute. You can also start it online but some people have been messing that up so just chat to do it.

This is for a kid. He was using lot of data. We tried putting limits on screen time and screen lock. He keeps on breaking our restrictions either by jail break or something. We just want to get talk and text feature. Then he can use wifi to do rest of the stuff.
Quote from comintel :
Personally I would port to Tello in that case. You can use it pay as you go for months at a time on a $10 deposit or get a low cost plan.

https://tello.com/

You could choose a plan with little or no data.
Alternatively, I think you would be able to set paygo to exclude data use also. There is a toggle:
"Pay As You Go 4G LTE Data: Keep this feature ON if you want to enjoy 4G LTE speed from your Pay As You Go balance at 2ยข/MB"

I am guessing turning that off would mean no data. You can call them to be sure.

I have PAYG with them even though I do not really need it, just because it costs essentially nothing to keep it going.

Tello is a high reputation Sprint mvno.

(There are zero cost plans on certain gimmick-ridden mvno's but they are full of gotchas and tricks.)
You can also get Unlimited text and talk with NO DATA (wifi only allowed) if you want onTwigby for $10- $14.

For those who service is ending soon and want to stick with Sprint and don't use that much data, someone just posted that Tello reduced their prices on all of their plans. Their Unlimited T&T/1Gb is only $10 per month, the 2GB is $14. 4GB is $19. Data includes unlimited 2G after data cap has been reached. Also includes tethering.

I did actually went to the store, but it was to get the sim kits. I didn't want to wait for shipping. It cost $3.xx ish with tax. I did know not to talk to them about the plan, it was solely to get the SIM. Smilie
