I guess the Sprint Human Behavior Department got a kick out of the past few days! LOL! Guess it could have been worse..someone from this forum could have posted the deal was back on Hot Deals as was suggested! LOL
I agree with you John.

After the initial Community rep "confirmed" that it was valid, and one "registration" on the site appeared to go through, I was almost at the point of requesting the thread be re-activated but fortunately held off for further confirmation. I also barely held off contacting SD Deal editors etc.

Fortunately, others here also held off. I am sure several were tempted also.

I used to be on this plan, then I ported my number out. Is that account still alive? If I want to get back on this plan again, do i need to ask Sprint to remove or close the account first? What number should I call?
Assuming it has not been too long, I would call 1-866-782-8777 and see if you can still add a line back. Maybe tell hem you made a mistake and accidentally ported out.

I assume there is still time left before your original expiry date? Otherwise there is no point doing this because you would get the original expiry date back.

As per other posts, it has developed that the free plan is unfortunately not reopening for new accounts.

I have 2 lines connected to my account which is expiring on Sep 30th. I do have 1 line connected to my wife account which is expiring Apr 30th 2020. Both are BYOD 1 year free accounts. I am planning to switch the 2 lines from my account to my wife's account but use the same numbers. How do i port out those 2 lines from my account to another carrier? I saw google voice for new number creation, but i would like to use the same number. Is there any other way i can port those 2 numbers out to different carrier and then add the 2 lines to my wife account.
Right that is just the normal way of doing it. Port out to a non-Sprint carrier, then port back in to your other Sprint account. You do keep your number - that is the whole idea.

People have been using TMobile Prepaid, UltraMobile, some TracFone brands, and others. You can search back for recent experiences. It does not really matter which one. It will be no real problem and the issue is just cost minimization.

I can confirm it is not live, I signed up online, got my SIM card, tried to activate it with the link you used above and it didn't find my order. I called in and they said the promotion is no longer live and they won't honor it.

What kind of company makes this link active for customers to sign up for than claim they won't honor it lmao? Their excuse was that link is supposed to be used for existing customers to add new lines LOL

Yes but you cannot switch directly.

You will have to port out to a non-Sprint carrier and then activate on KickStart via porting back in.

comintel - does your approach mentioned in the wiki not work anymore to move from free 1 yr to unlimited kickstart without porting out?

It can work - in fact one person got it to work just now and quite a few others did earlier. I do not always mention it, especially if the person acts as if there is not much time left (although they usually would actually have more time than they realize) It gets complicated to go into the whole thing from scratch unless the person has already read about it.

However, the retention rep must actually enter the cancel for the future date (usually end of billing cycle). If they do not do that, the recovery rep will not be able to do the conversion.

In a couple of cases, the retention rep did not actually enter the cancel and people were unable to convert.

Understandably, the retention rep will try to figure out what goal you have in mind to accomplish and will be hesitant to enter a cancel that would appear to be going to cause you to lose your numbers. Some of them may figure it is better to pretend to go along but actually ignore what you say because that will be lowest risk to them overall. Maybe it would be best to just explain to them what you are really up to.

There's really no downside to trying it, as long as you have some time and do not forget about it and risk losing your numbers if nothing happens and the date for the cancel closes in.

After you enter the cancel request, .you may want to check if it shows on the account by using Chat before calling the Recovery number, although you can just call the Recovery number.
.

Just an update - I was able to get a year free.

Basically they made me sign up to the kickstart plan and are providing monthly bill credits that equate to the same as the free plan for a year.

It took some time to get everything sorted out, but it was an exception they were willing to make for the trouble caused.

Wow - CONGRATULATIONS!

I sort of had in my mind that that might be possible in the end regardless, and that is one reason I believe in posting this kind of thing even when it may well be an error.

I would have tried it myself as long as the site was live if I had needed a Free plan. I do other similar things.

May I ask for a few details?

Did you work with Sales? Retention rep? Recovery rep? [email protected]?

TIA.

PS
I signed up for deal yesterday. Received the SIM today, but could not activate. The Manilla-based Sales Rep (while very pleasant) would not budge.

I agree that's a good idea to try first at least.
Still no word from Sprint on unlock request. Is there any cheap phone deal to port into Teloo. After the port, i should able to swap the sim card I guess.
