For anyone who don't want any hassle just go to tmobile store and ask for ultramobile pay as you go. It will be $3 for sim plus $10 activation fee. $13 total and you are done in 15 minutes. If you have sim from ebay you still have to call tmobile, transfer then wait again, and at the end they will charge you 10 activation fee. Too much waiting and hassle Best to go to tmobile which I have done 3x.
Is the porting out also completed in 15 min?

I found this older thread which includes discussion of the use of Ting GSM SIMS for PIPO. Looks like it CAN be done with the caveat that if you port out immediately, Ting will ban your e-mail and CC info against ever using them again. So use a virtual CC if you can find the rare bank that will still generate one for you.
Thanks for investigating Ting option. Sounds less than ideal with possible ban and maybe not honoring $30 credit. I'll edit post.
Also looks like Ting will be moving to a Verizon based mvno near years end.

I forgot to "renew" last April. What's the cheapest or most popular alternative to this plan nowadays?

There is no alternative at low cost but unlimited high-speed data like this plan had.

You have to choose one or the other in general.

Tello plans are popular. Tello's cheapest data plan (500MB) is $5 with no tax or fees and you can do phone calls as add-on paygo one cent a minute so that is extremely attractive to many.

Tello is changing up the Paygo terms, maybe there is a chance we are grandfathered in. I saw you in the HF topic. https://www.howardforums.com/show...Expiration
I'm kinda freaking out with deja vu, this seems like ringplus shenanigans.

I don't understand your question. To get your acct number from sprint and pin. You just call them. The same with ultramobile.

I found the easiest way to port out (and then port back in) is to:
1. get a free t-mobile sim from Apple Store (if you have iphone. in fact, apple store will still give you one if you are not using iphone)
2. activate thru t-mobile prepaid online, and choose $10 per month Internet only plan (the lowest plan). after you activated, the account will be printed on the confimation page. And your sprint # will become a t-mobile # in less than 10 minutes (mine is like < 5 mins)
3. once it becomes a t-mobile # (ported to t-mobile), try to sign into t-mobile and then you can be sure the # is indeed on t-mobile.
4. after that, you have a month to port to other services (such as kickstart or another BOYD free one-year plan).

Will the t-mobile sim come with the activation code that is needed during the activation process ?

the cheapest sprint plan is the kickstarter plan which is still $30 so I think you will be better off with something like AT&T Prepaid, Cricket, H20, LycaMobile, Ultramobile, Visible etc.
