There was a countdown clock low on the page on https://www.sprint.com/ , indicating that the $25 Kickstart offer ends October 3 for new takers
(currently $40 less $10 BYOD credit less $5 autopay credit for net cost of $25 plus tax)

Update Oct 1: They have now taken down the countdown clock - I do not mean if they have extended the offer or not.

Can you check your dashboard and see what type of phone it says you have? If it says Boost, it was never properly re-SKU'd. But then I wonder how the heck it ever got on in the first place.
Dashboard says Moto E5 Play, nothing about Boost. When I activated the phone on Sprint BYOD, the phone automatically reformatted itself to the Sprint-variant of Moto E5 Play, including an extensive range of custom Sprint bloatware that replaced the previous, comparatively-modest Boost bloatware.

Sprint Advanced Technical Support, as compared to first-level technical support or clueless regular customer service, is confident that the phone has been unlocked on their master list of all devices on Sprint network, including those of MVNOs. The issue that perplexes both them and me is why the phone is not receiving this unlock.

Last year, there was an issue where the entire product range of Essential Phones were not receiving unlocks granted by Sprint. It was only when users recognized that many others were having the same problem that case was built and pressure was put on Sprint to resolve the issue, which they finally did.

Officially Retentions, not technical support, is in charge of unlocks, so I would give them a call at 844-382-3317. Some people who have done that have succeeded where they previously failed with other departments.
I began with that department, and was escalated to Advanced Technical Support, who seem to have more expertise and knowledge of internal systems, but having made no headway despite their sincere efforts, I'm canvassing the often cleverer, more creative SlickDeals community as a final resort. Smilie

Oh ok very good - you have been very thorough.

Have you tried Lenovo support? You could let them know that you have verified that the unlock has been registered by Sprint so it may be a defect in the phone that it is not accepting it. The manufacturer is likely heavily involved in the operation of the unlock process.

Since it shows $25 a month to them, I think it should be ok then!. Actually that is very encouraging.

It should be $40 less $5 autopay credit less $10 BYOD credit so the $40 is correct, it is just a question of when/whether the two credits show up.

I agree I would just leave it for now in that case.
Cool thanks. I will wait till my old benefitd ends. And wait for one billing

So those eBay virtual SIMs don't work anymore? My uncle has a free Sprint account that ends next April. Mine ends on 9/30.

So my plan was to buy a virtual sim, and set up a prepaid T-Mobile account with the $10 internet plan. Obviously port my Sprint number to T-Mobile and then port that back as a free line to my uncle's account.

Will this work? Can it be done online? I couldn't find any Ultramobile SIMs at my local T-Mobile earlier today and the next one is pretty far.
You can buy a Ting sim card preloaded with a $30 plan at Target. Sim will cost you $5. With Ting, choose the GSM network which is T-Mobile and not their CDMA which will be Sprint. Once you have made and activated your account online, account number and pin is easy to find.

The Sprint number to call is 844-812-0613 in the latest kickstart ad or you can use 866 782 8777 as always.

The Kickstart $25 offer ends Oct 3.

Here are notes on porting out from Mint

Just saw an ad in my Facebook that Costco offers the kickstart $25 plan at their stores. Does anyone know if I can switch from free 1 year plan to that without porting out?

That's the same price as Sprint charges until Oct 3.

You cannot switch to Kickstart without porting out at Sprint. Costco is just reselling the Sprint offer so it would be the same. It is possible that you might be able to avoid any activation fee by signing up at Costco though.

Sprint is never going to let Sprint users switch to Kickstart directly. It would be insane for them to do so. They would lose a huge amount of revenue from their postpaid subscriber base of people who are currently paying $60, $70 a month and even higher because they are locked in to old plans..

Finally got a clean monthly bill of only kickstart with winback and taxes. Comes out to just under $17.50 per line per month. Winback credits run out early next year and then I'll have to figure out where to go next if I think that's too expensive.

A thread search (or even a full Google search) with the words "number park/parking" should bring you your answer.

Quick question here if anyone knows:

I have 5 lines with this free BYOD on my account now, I am approved for 10 lines total (confirmed).
If I add a 6th line with a regular paid plan to this same account, it won't change my 5 freebie lines in any way will it?

I'm actually looking to do this deal to get a G7 and then cancel line right away.

https://slickdeals.net/f/13407376-unlocked-moto-g7-129-99-and-z3-play-99-00-at-bestbuy-with-new-verizon-line-and-cancel

Thanks.
