I tried searching already, but will Sprint unlock a phone on this plan after 50 days?

Yes they will (assuming it is paid off if applicable) and lots of people have done that.
(Edit: I am assuming you just mean a normal unlock sometimes needed of a new phone or after being paid off. This does not necessarily apply to a prepaid unlock or other forms of unlock).

But it still has the problems of delays and such, right?
I ported my sprint number last night (using 800 number, didnt provide my cc details), and number was ported in under an hour (I was not constantly checking, so may be it got ported earlier than that, but I dont know).

Where are you getting an SE that needs unlocking by the way?

I was assuming you just meant a simple Sprint unlock, sometimes needed for a new phone or after being paid off. Other types of unlock may not be possible at all (eg a prepaid lock - I would not count in using any Boost or other Sprint Prepaid model at all in fact).

Also fyi you need iPhone 8 or higher if you want VoLTE or simultaneous voice and data on Sprint. And only certain models work on Sprint. Sorry if you know all this already.

Any date before 4/30/2020 to be conservative but you can actually go up to your account billing period end date following that according to posters here.

Many of us have that particular end date (which is the last one) so check back around then and let's discuss options etc.

I do not see much of an argument for doing anything right now.

If the merger goes through (which I would not count on), we may be customers of the new merged company by then!

If the merger falls through, that will be when we should see some real bargains.

My end date is January but I kind of want to see what plan I get transferred to. I'm sort of holding on to some hope that maybe it continues and Sprint somehow over looks it! Not going to hold my breath though!

I ported out last month. Nov 28. I talked to customer care and their retention team on continuing with the same plan for another year. They said a big NO. In this thread somewhere I remember a posting that said that we can port out, wait for two months and port back in to avail the offer if it still exists

You are eligible for any new-customer-only offers under the same SSN after 45 days off Sprint (and many of us including me have gone through that port-out-port-in dance multiple times) but there are no attractive new customer offers any more and probably will not be under the merger is resolved one way or the other.

The whole one year free program was just a ploy to raise their subscriber count by counting us as long-term subscribers but they have now admitted publicly before the FCC and in their reports that the plan did not work so the attractiveness of it is gone for them. The analysts would just subtract off the number of free subscribers if they did try it again.

You can see by the price trend of KickStart (first $15, then $25, now $35) that their focus is now on raising prices of low cost plans to converge then with TMobile's in anticipation of the merger.

Anyone has a good phone number to add a new line to existing account? I tried the 8777 but got shot down several times.

Did you use wording along the following lines:

"I have the one year free plan and my account is preapproved to add up to a total of 5 lines at any time and I am calling today to add an additional free line. Here are the details .........."

Be sure NOT to ask if you can do it since that gives the rep too much power to say "no you have to buy Kickstart" etc. TELL, do not ASK. ARGUE if they say no - explain it is a written provision of the plan.

Other than that, just try more times at different times of day and different days of the week.

There are no other numbers to call.

Oh, have they changed it to 4 lines? My account was approved for 5 lines and I added a 4th two weeks ago w/o a hitch. Maybe that's why I got shot down this time.

As comintel explained, assuming you have 1 line then you can add 4 more.
5 lines total for most everyone.
