Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Got this text from Sprint today: "Sprint: We appreciate you! Because you're a valued customer, your line 3 will stay free thru 1/31/21 while on current plan (w/$5/mo. AutoPay discount)." My current BYOD free plan runs out 1/31/20. Anyone else get a similar text? Also any thoughts on what they mean by "line 3 will stay free?" I have 5 lines in the account. If they mean all 5 lines will stay free for another year that would be great. Tried chatting but rep didn't know anything. Will call the retention department as next step, but hoping SD folks know something about.

Some people on reddit got that. Realistically they are just referring to a small change in the pre-specfied paid pricing formula that, as noted on your bill, your plan will evolve into when your free period ends.

Lines 3 and up will be "free" after you pay the high full price for lines 1 and 2.

But sure, call Retentions to satisfy yourself you are not missing out on anything.

Ah, really helpful. Thanks a lot! Doesn't really make sense to stay then. Still debating on Ultra vs. Mint vs. Redpocket when time is up.

"While on current plan" ... I received the same text. Contact with Sprint verified my three lines on the BYOD plan will continue to be free until 01/31/21.

Unfortunately that is not what it says. I do not think we can safely presume that the first two lines are free as well as the third because it does not say that..

The pricing was to go to 60,40,20 but now will stay at 60,40,0 so the third line "remains free". That is what it refers to in my opinion.

Unfortunately general reps guess at everything.

I would suggest calling Retentions at 844-382-3317 to get a definitive opinion.

My 1 yr deal is ending this month. Does anyone have recommendations on cheap prepaid plans? Looking to spend about $15/month or less. It's just me, so no family plans.

I'm looking for a plan with unlimited calls/text and at least 2GB/month.

I'm aware of Tello's $14 2GB/month plan and Ultra Mobile's 6GB/month 1 yr $162 paid upfront plan.

Are there any other prepaid plans I should consider? I'm in the NYC area and Sprint worked great for me.

For people who are on those Tello or Ultra Mobile plans, how do you like it? Any taxes/fees? How long did it take to port over your number? Any issues?

Thanks!

Also look out for the Red Pocket 360-day prepaid plan like the following deal on eBay. They drop the price every other month. hug

Tello worked good for me, if Sprint has worked for you, Tello is a good choice.
Month by month so if anything better come around, your not locked into a Red Pocket year.

P.S. UPDATE: The urlhasbeenblocked deal is no longer $75/line but it now is $75/order, that is one $75 cashback ONLY. Also, the Verizon $250/line offer keeps on getting renewed since last year, and it will be most likely extended past the current deadline of March 31, 2020.

For all those here who have 5 lines that expire in April, the Verizon $250 deal plus the urlhasbeenblocked $75/line has been extended to March 31, 2020.
You can stay the minimum 6 month and then move over to greener pastures in which case you'll be taking some $$ with you, or you can stay for the full year at the low rate, or stay there for good after the year is over at the regular rate.
If you have 5 lines or can get 5 friends/relatives/etc together it may be worth it.

You can do fewer lines but the cost per month/line goes up:
5 lines $30/mo/line
4 lines $35/mo/line
3 lines $45/mo/line
2 lines $60/mo/line
1 line $70/mo/line

Now, by the end of March the Sprint/T-Mo merger may go thru and various offers may materialize to stay there.
Keep following the story!!!

Not exactly. Sprint MVNOs don't have T-Mobile roaming. For me, Sprint voice has been good, but only Sprint LTE band 41 is good when I can get it. Most of the time, T-Mobile roaming has made data work for me.

ported 2 lines to Ultra mobile today... Both were completed porting in few minutes. 2 more lines to go. I have the free plan until 1/31/20, but billing cycle 20th of every month. Does Sprint prorate my bill as per free BYOD for the 10 days, if I port out on 1/31?
