Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The period from 11/25 - 12/25 started during your free period and so is free because Sprint does not prorate, according to my understanding, such as it is, of what edog11 has posted. (I hope he will clarify/correct as necessary.)

You will be billed for your period 12-25 to 1-25. Billing is always in arrears. Your only hope is probably to cancel immediately and try to claim the 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee since it is (barely) less than 30 days since the first billable period began, although if they count it from 11/30 it would be too late for the satisfaction guarantee at least..

If you let it go past 1/24, you may be billed for the entire next billing period as well, for a total of two full months.

All of this is in my opinion.

Retentions is 1-844-382-3317 if you want more authoritative word and/or to try to claim the 30-day satisfaction guarantee while there may still be time.
Sprint bills for service for current bill cycle(12/26-1/25) at the beginning of the cycle(12/28) and is due(about 1/17) during current cycle. When you port out during a cycle and have paid by due date the next bill(which is final bill) is $0 total(no taxes+fees) because there is no charge for service on next bill since you have ported out.
Their latest bill generated around 12/28 should have been the full price if the savings date was 11/30/19. For some unknown reason their plan did not switch to full price. May be good news but you also don't know when it will change if savings date of 11/30/19 is still listed on bill.
People confuse bill period date on bill statement with service dates being billed for. This can be confirmed by checking people's next bill after port out which should be $0(unless there was some small overages like international calls or similar). Also first bill usually shows a bill period of just one day(day before sign up for service)
Even though this is Sprint postpaid you are still billed in advance(at beginning of cycle) but due date is after you started service. So every cycle you receive postpaid service until the due date and the last 7 days of cycle are actually already paid for in advance.
There have been hundreds of people that have done this deal and ported out to close account. So should be easy to confirm next bill after closing account was $0 total(no tax+fees) assuming current amount due for cycle was paid.

my free plan is ending 1/30. i am trying verizon prepaid. haven't seen anyone post about them, but getting $30 from tapcoshbock, they are giving $60 back after 2 months on their $50 plan ($45 w/ autopay) second line is $30, and they're doubling data (16gb/mo), and hotspot is included. I will switch to their $35/mo plan or sprint kickstart after the 2 months

Ok, I hope I'm correct on this, to be safe people usually port out by end of savings date. So not a lot of data on having free plan extended past next bill cycle after savings date like 'orangetiger' plan did.
This recent post had the bill changing to full price and wish they had reported back.
Quote from mser4fun :
For your service beginning on the 21st of January through February 20th, you will be charged the full amount. They will not prorate. I went through this first hand. The confusion in this forum is caused by the timing of the bill. Your bill for the services from December 21 to January 20th will be zero plus the surcharges and that bill will be posted to your account a few days after January 20th. Comes February 20th, your bill will be, say $100, but that charge will be for the FULL service cost received from January 21st through February 20th.

In my case, my free plan ended July 25, 2019 and when my August 25th came through I was charged the full amount for services received from July 26 through August 25th. The due date for that August 25th bill was like September 18th.

Remember, the services is called POSTPAID.
In this case(and I disagree how they interpreted bill service dates) the bill generated around 7/28 was $0+tax and fees for service for 7/26-8/25 eventhough bill period date on bill was 6/26-7/25. Then next bill generated around 8/28(due 9/18) was for full price for service for 8/26-9/25 eventhough bill period on bill listed 7/26-8/25. This tells me their savings date was 7/31/19 and they did not port out by 8/25 so they were billed full price for 8/26-9/25. During that time frame the savings date were 5/31/19, 7/31/19, and 9/30/19. So 7/31/19 would make sense.

Sprint chat says my free BYOD Plan ends 4/30/20. I plan on porting out of Sprint by 4/29/20 so that I don't get charged anything.

It would be pretty sweet if they brought it back and I could re-up for another 12 months. I asked my support agent and she said she didn't know, but if it does happen, they would let me know.

I know this has probably been covered in triplicate in this thread, but I would rather not wade through 900+ pages to find the info Smilie Hoping someone can chime in. My free BYOD is expiring on 1/31, and i am looking to switch someone. I do not care if it is post/prepaid, nor do i care how much LTE data i get a month. My only 3 criteria are
1. cheap
2. unlimited data of some sort (2g, 3g etc..)
3. semi decent network (i had good luck w/ sprint and verizon)

I would be bringing a pixel 2 . It appears Mint has 3 months for 45 , plus 20$ back @ TCB. Anyone recommend anything else ? Thank you very much for any insight!

EDIT: From my quick research , it appears either Mint or Tello would fit well, with Tello being slightly cheaper (albiet w/ less LTE GB's). Mint is on T-mobile network which i had issues w/ before, but tello is on sprint which has good enough coverage for me.

Sure - no harm hoping. But just fyi, they have never openly allowed extending an existing plan in three years. All of us here who did re-up multiple times had to port out and start over as a new customer.

Personally I think it is extremely unlikely to happen as Sprint has concluded the Free Plan and other near-giveaways were failed experiments since users did not stay, and is still embarrassed by all the negative publicity over its giving away service to goose its numbers.

Chat reps have never known anything about future plans, although that has not stopped them from guessing (usually wrongly). They were mostly wrong all the times plan enrollment was extended and wrong again when it finally closed.

So the idea to port out in the period containing the "savings until" date?

My savings until date is 4/30/20, like most people. My billing period starts on the 2nd. So port out my lines a week or two before 4/30... right?

I am planning to port out a line from Sprint to H2o and let the number die. I am not signing up for a plan with H2o. Does this still work? I did that a year ago and it worked. Just wondering if anything has changed since. Do you have to fund pay as you go plan for porting-in to work? Dont want my port request to get stuck.

It did not have to be funded when I did it a few weeks ago but just stopped being free

according to https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=134456027&postcount=42583

and prior messages (unless it depends on which H2O sim package you bought or some such unknown factor).

Thanks for the response. I have the $1 SIm from Target and ebay.

When i go for transfer request, it asks for number, acct info, name/address for current sprint acct..then h2o sim num, my contact email and phone number....it is not asking me for pin or airtime or anything like u were discussing with Genghiskhan. I didn't hit the submit button...maybe it will ask after I hit the submit button?

That's what he was saying happened to him.

I see no harm in trying it if you are ready to port.

But is that all you remember from your port in request to h2o? You hit the submit button and the line disappears in a few minutes from Sprint acct? Did u get an email from h2o about transfer request? I believe i did when i did it a year ago. Thx again.

This is the request information when you put in the number you want to port in. See the attached snapshot. The information about your h2o sim is below the existing information. I just pasted it side by side so that it can be viewed in one file.

Is that how your page looked? Did u input sim number of actfast code (don't know what that is). Thx
