Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I definitely would not activate it until you get the plan straightened out even though they should not start charging right away, because you want to keep this as simple as possible.

Best Buy has a phone activation support number. I would call them:

Best Buy's Mobile Activations Team 866-650-7375
Thank you so much. I called and was told I need to go to the local Best Buy, return and rebuy if I want the $25 kickstart plan. Also I called Sprint, was told the $65 plan can't be changed to $35 kickstart until next month.

So I am going to Best Buy tommorrow and see if things can get straightened out.

Very good - I would suggest do not accept any compromises of any kind other than starting over from scratch if need be with full refunds from both Best Buy and Sprint.

My latest bill is from Mar 25th to April 24th. I will be charged on Jun 17 for that cycle. I have scheduled all four of my lines to be closed on Jun 24 and the rep said I will get my last bill on July 17. I asked the rep to close today but she said it could only be scheduled for the end of the cycle. Does this sound correct or should I spend a few dollars to port these numbers into the ether?

Be safe and port out.

$1 SIM cards for h2o wireless are available at Target and Best Buy.

Port out, choose the $10 plan, but don't load any actual money. The port will happen and the Sprint number will disappear from your Sprint account. The h2o number on account will disappear/release automatically in 30 days.

It depends when your extension ends, May 31 or June 30. This is shown on your bill. I cannot tell that for sure from the information in your post.

Formally you can can close an account only by either porting out or by talking to Retentions whose number is 844-382-3317.

You can insist on closing earlier than an end of billing cycle date but it usually does you no actual good to do so (unless someone is maybe just a little over and wants to argue it was close enough).

Given that there is often confusion as to which dates apply, in general it is best to port out, as suggested by dmart9. You can do so free (except for the cost of the sim card) by porting to H2O.

Did return and rebuy a new phone of same model with a new line of kickstart plan at BestBuy.

Somehow the previous added $65 unlimited basic line is still under my account. I called Sprint letting them know I returned the phone which I didn't activate, requesting to cancel this line. The rep told me he couldn't cancel the line or service immediately since the cancel service, according to what he said, is a future event that will happen at the end of the billing cycle, July 1st, in my case. So I asked him if that means I have to pay for this line till July 1st, and the $30 activation fee. Unfortunately he didn't give me a Yes or No. He did explain to me a little but I am still confused about how the bill will go.

Since I never activated the phone, I don't think I can port the line out. Or if I can port it out, will I still get charged $65+$30?

Are there other alternatives to cancel the line and service that I never activated?

TIA

Right now, Sprint users who have been moved to the TMobile side (such as S20 users) are still being authenticated and managed according to Sprint protocols and standards even though they are assigned to the TMobile network.

It will very likely be the same for the 6/15 group.
This means still CDMA and not conversion to GSM? Can't wait for GSM, I miss GSM's ability to just move a SIM card to another device without having to tell the carrier.

That's good that you got onto Kickstart!

I think the earlier charges may be refunded automatically after billing cycle close, but, to take no chances, if you have the time I would suggest maybe port out the number to H2O immediately to die just as a start to get it off the account as soon as possible just for the record.

I would also call Best Buy and see what they say.

Also I would call Sprint Account Services at 844-382-3317 to discuss. (Regular reps are usually not worth talking to). You can mention the 30-day money back guarantee, even if it does not apply technically because BestBuy was involved.

You will not really see the results until after billing cycle month end. At that time you can have another round of communications with them if all the charges were not adjusted off. Right now I think you mainly want to just do as much as you can and then wait to see what happens after billing cycle month end.

It will all move to LTE and its successor 5G (also called NR) over time.

They will have sim card replacement moves. But not yet.

Now 3 months free Mint plan is coming to an end, renewed for 3 months for a nominal charge using their Bonus credits

My extension ends June 30. I called retention again and they found that the last rep only scheduled two of my four lines to cancel. He scheduled the other two but I think a H2O port is needed.

Thank you. Called Account Service and they're great. They did same day cancellation, which will take effect at the end of today. I will see. And they don't recommend porting out after or during the cancellation process.

Yes I will watch my next bill and see if future communication's needed for the charge or refund.

Thanks again!

I have an old favorite Moto Z2 Force Sprint version. It was never voLTE enabled.
With upcoming Tower changes, is there any chance this phone will be usable on the "new" T-Mobile in the future? With voLTE?

I see it had Calling Plus on Sprint which makes me suspect that the intention originally was to migrate it to VoLTE on Sprint. I know there were some Moto phones which were planned for VoLTE around the end of last year but that project was never completed as the merger got close.

I imagine they could do an update to the Sprint version of that phone (if even needed) to support TMobile VoLTE. They will probably be updating a lot of phones. Whether that one makes the cut probably depends on how much Motorola/Lenovo would charge them for the update, I suspect the list of which Moto phones get such updates (where needed) is under negotiation with Lenovo (and the same for other manufacturers' models). A lot of decisions will have to be made.

For Sprint phones that they cannot readily make work on TMobile (including VoLTE), they may offer some upgrade deals.

Otherwise the worst case would be that they leave it orphaned on the legacy Sprint network after almost everything current is moved off, getting poorer and poorer service over 3 years as they take over most of band 41 and even band 25 for TMobile-style LTE and 5G. Really they would like to shut down the legacy Sprint network as much as possible so they will make every effort to get any phones they can off it. Their plan is to consolidate everybody possible on the TMobile network. Unfortunately the version of LTE that they plan on using on band 41 turned out to have to be incompatible with the version Sprint is using, so they plan on phasing out the Sprint legacy LTE on that band.
