Whatever happened to the student discount on these that dropped them to about $96?

I've been eyeing the 5tb Toshiba. B&H's regular price seems to be $146 and it's no tax for me. Any ideas on the cheapest the 5tb has been?

I have 3 of these 5TBs drives in my home server. I paid 140 for each back then and it was a pretty good deal. Not sure if theyve gone for less since then.

I just bought a Sandisk SSD Plus 480 GB (New) for 137
Should I return that and get this one?
Or is it not worth the hassle?
the WD Blue is a tweaked Sandisk X400
about the same wty but WD rates if for 400TBW lifetime, PS Frys will have it for $125 Sat morning

How reliable are these compared to WD and HGST (Hitachi) drives?

I have the slightly older version of the Toshiba 5tb. They are fairly reliable but be warned that they are not the quietest drive in the world.

I have 3tb version that just got click of death issue. You can find tons of videos on it and Toshiba drives seem to develop this problem just after warranty is out. You be the judge, but no more Toshiba drives for me.

I believe I paid $122 for my last one. Haven't seen it cheaper than that on Newegg since then. I would probably buy another one if they would get down to $122 again. Normally around $142 at MicroCenter.
