Amazon and Menards have the Porter Cable 560 Quick Jig on sale for 156.99.

I own a lot of Kreg products and am a huge fan of Kreg but this blows the Kreg systems out of the water IMO.

Amazon only has 9 in stock. Menards also has some stock if you have one near you. This generally retails for $200 plus and never goes on sale.

😎 Ha, Na when I bought this a couple months ago I couldn't find it at this price point. Saw is in stock on Amazon. Thought I would share and draw attention to this gem. It's a much better pocket hole machine to kreg.

The screw depth is a bit off on this jig. It looks like it has a tiny slot for an insert or something that would set the depth for the correct size but it is missing. This will result in screws coming out the back of your joints. A piece of cardboard or a thin piece of plastic would work about 1/8in.

It's become my go-to pocket hole jig, mostly because it auto adjusts completely so you just stick the wood in, twist the clamp, and drill. The R3 isn't too bad, but requires clamping it to the wood, making sure it's square, etc. It's not much more work but the PC model just feels really solid and nice to use. If I want to drill a pocket hole on an existing piece that's already assembled though, the R3 is really nice.

Couldn't you just move the collar on the drill bit to be a bit shorter?

Not sure if that's an option, will have to check. Id think it would make the bit recalibration part inaccurate then.

The suggested screw length guage is always going to be based on the thickness. If your screws are popping through the end, if the drill hole depth isn't as far, then it'll make the screw not go as far.

Also, if you are using your drill (in drill mode) to drive your screws in, you might be putting too much power and over driving

That's probably the case tbh. I'm also going off of someone else's experience though from the last time this jig came around. He posted a website with a bunch of pics and a fix. I'd have to find it

Interesting, I've never had that issue. Maybe you are using the wrong screw size.

I wonder if they used the collar that was installed by the factory. I recall in the manual that the collar was pre installed. Mine wasn't however. I bet they stopped doing it at the factory due to it not being accurate out of the box. It takes two seconds to install and have that you are good to go for the life of your drill bit.
