For any of you that own the Z5500, do yourself a favor and replace the two front channel speakers with real speakers that include tweeters (any will do). There was a mod that just has you add tweeters and you rig it up to the top front and the thing sounds fantastic (but ugly) for just the price of car stereo tweeters. But I decided to just replace the front speakers as a whole with Energy small bookshelves. Either change will sound really fantastic! Try it and you'll see a world of difference. If you watch movies often with the Z5500, change the center channel too.
I bought the Z5500 off ebay as it is literally "LEGENDARY" as people here call it. The only way it dies is the fuse (which is easily replaced). Best PC Speaker set and they'll never make another one like it. This deal here is pretty good for $250 and it performs almost as well.

I still have a Z680 the year it came out... I only had to replace a blown fuse once. These things are indestructible and sound awesome. This is a steal for this version too.
the 5500 is sorta of an eyesore and these look so much sleeker but how much of an upgrade is the sound/bass? the 5500 is/was absolutely monstrous in terms of both.

Oh man, I have a z680 that's boxed up since logitech sent me a whole set minus the center control when I claimed warranty. I should hook that up to my desktop I have now
