I bought it off of eBay as well. This can has been awesome. It fits normal kitchen bags perfectly. There is a ring that you put the bag through and wrap the top of the bag around to keep it in place. Tuck that into the can, it looks perfect. Can't even see the bag. If you need to clean the can the top comes off and it is easy to clean out the main bin.
Yes it does have an open and close button, however you dont have to use it... Once you get close to the sensor (about 4 inches away) it opens. There is also an on/off switch on the back when you are cleaning or taking out the trash.
When we bought this we were looking at other stainless cans that were over 50 bucks. This has seriously been one of the best purchases I have made. Even my wife who said it was "dumb" at first, loves it. If it gets your SO to say you were right, it is a good product.
I remember putting this on my AMEX card though because of the iffy urlhasbeenblocked reviews for not receiving the right product or not receiving every part and their customer service not being very good...but everything was fine for me

I bought this the last time around from an eBay seller that wanted me to pay for return... now it is collecting dust.
Oh, and it doesn't have a sensor opener, it has an open/close button (!!)

I agree. Bought it from the eBay deal and that was almost 3 years ago. Over changed the battery just once. And it does have a sensor and the plastic lining works just fine
