Best Buy is able to price match if there is availability in one of the Fry's store within a 25 mile radius. However, Microcenter is much more lenient on their price matching as it does not have the 25 mile radius requirement. In addition to in-store price matching policy, credit cards can potentially price match this as well due to it being sold and advertised by a reputable dealer.

Unless you really need Mac OS for a specific programming I really don't understand why people spend the premium price for Macbooks. And no I don't completely hate Apple, I have a Mac pro, two iPads, 5+ ipods, and a Mac mini. I just didn't pay the premium price for the computers. Really the only market that Apple is even remotely reasonable is for their tablets. The parts just don't justify the price.
Aesthetics plays a big roll in MacBook's appeal. In addition to that, MacBooks have the best trackpad I have ever used and no other Windows laptop can come close to it. Furthermore, Apple's ecosystem is extremely convenient.

This. I still have a PC but every single PC trackpad I have used including good, business laptops from Lenovo, has been a joke compared to Apple. It is really, really hard to go back. Both have their weaknesses and I couldn't care less about the looks of an Apple product.

II used to think that until I bought other laptops that were lower priced, I bought a lenovo 910 and 710 2 weeks ago (both much better specs than this macbook deal). Returned them both. Build quality on the macbook is much nicer and so is the sound quality. Trackpad is also the best on the market. These little things with the lenovo really annoyed me and decided I would be going back to a macbook.

I am a little annoyed that they got rid of USB ports on these new macbooks

Good price, only thing I don't like about the non-touch bar model is the ULV processor. Not a huge deal for most people though.

My MacBook 2008 still running great too. Pretty impressive build quality. The specs are obsolete but it is still usable. Only a few similarly priced laptops have this level of build quality, portability, and performance like the Thinkpad X1.

I'm starting to use Mac OS because of the integration with the iphone and because I will never buy another windows PC. Apples high price is because you're buying the product, windows low/no price is because you're the product. The windows 8/10 interface is cancer, and I don't want built in pop-up ads on my OS.

That being said, a Mac laptop of any sort is overkill for 85% of users. Most people would be equally well served by a chromebook.
