I got this, and put it side by side with side with the top-notch professional 27 inch IPS, here is the pic:

Dell S2716DG (QHD/TN/144HZ) and its top notch counterpart in professional IPS Dell U2717D (QHD/60HZ/IPS).

I have this in my office so I can game on S2716DG and be productive on U2717D, I spent 6~8 hours with them every day within 1.5 ft proximity.

The short answer to most people's concern is: if you tune S2716DG with patient (start with the setup from Amazon review and Reddit, and tweak it till you are comfortable), it will look within 80% of U2717D, providing you staring at them directly (you cannot tweak the view angle of TN). That is good enough for me to pull the trigger.

Other Thoughts: both of them go on sale around $400~$450 regularly, both of them have extreme thin bezels, except S2716DG has a relatively larger DELL logo and jaw.

Confused. Is it a $100 Dell Promo Gift card that expires in 90 days, or is it a $100 Prepaid Visa Card that expires in 6 mos? The post details mention Visa, but the dell product page says promo card. Kind of a big difference.

according to the product page it says "Receive a $100 Dell PROMO eGift Card sent via email within 20 days. Expires 90 days from issuance."

The rebate is a visa gift card, the $100 Dell e-gift card expires in 90 days after you receive it.
