DD loves loves loves mac and cheese that you microwave, but not the ones that come in a cup. She has to have the packets and make it in her own ziploc container. She says the ones in the cup taste "plasticy"
Plus, just a mommy/teacher major quirk of mine is seeing all of those kiddos take out their hot sandwich that has been sitting in their locker for roughly 4 hours and eating it. Bologna and mayonnaise seems to be the staple. Really any lunch meat and condiments. vomit

Seriously what adult would eat that and yet they send it to school with the kiddos in a paper bag with no ice pack. Why not pack a pb&j? It is thoroughly disgusting. End of rant!
Question on the Mac N Ch. Does DD make it at home and keep it in a thermos? Just making sure, no microwaves avail for kids at school here.

DevilMomma... I was sent two copies of the Red Toys Book. It's not the Big Toy Book that came in the Sunday paper, these were thinner Toy Books. Both had $5/50 Qs. Thumbsup Shamefully I forgot to use one today.... guess I'll have to make another run tomorrow.
Anyways, they both have the $5 TQ for the EBO. I will send you the TQs, I don't need them. As I said, we have a lovely PINK one sitting in the back room. At least my DD likes it, too. And we have soo many mixes or I'd put on my invisible glasses and get some Sugar Cookies...

If I can't find you addy in my PM files I'll PM you tomorrow to get it and send them off.

If anybody wants to use the TQ for $5 off the EBO online, the code is TGHDYZZ.
You ROCK! So we're not nuts! There actually is a $5 tq out there. Awesome! Free EBO here I come. Thank you so much!

Yes, I know....little things excite me! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I read this EBO tip in a magazine or somewhere (can't remember, but I can't take credit for it), if you get the break apart refrigerated cookie dough, you know the kind that comes in a big rectangle with already perforated little squares, evidently you can cook just 1 little square at a time in the EBO. It bakes up a single cookie treat. Thought that might be a nice suggestion for some of you with younger kiddos who might not be as proficient with the mixing.
Great tip. Thank you
Quote from plgffl :
That sounds like a great idea! Im not sure DD is ready for this (she will be 5?) but I am hoping it does not involve a hundred mom's all the time. I will just pull my hair out!
5 yrs is probably the perfect age for this. And I soooo know what you mean about "mom" 100 times. DD drives me batty with that
Quote from muffintop :
I have a few target $1 off kotex peelies expiring this month. also, have some recent expired mfq to go with it. If anyone needs some, let me know. just hate to see them go unused. if anyone can spare some $5 cws that would be great!
That would be $1 overage on the Kotex in the trial/travel section, if you can handle the beeps.

Hmm...strange question ahead. Big Grin

When did/do you guys start potty training your kids? My mom and DH's mom swear that I need to start teaching DD now...isn't it too early? (She's 14 months.) Thanks.
I think we started "encouraging" my son about 18 months. Most children show an interest in it around that time period. I wished we had pushed him a little harder because he soon lost interest in it and wasn't out of diapers until 3.

My DD turned 3 in Aug. She showed the same interest in PT around 18 months. We didn't act on it much, we had other stuff going on. Now she has NO interest in it and has screaming fits if I tell her to put on underwear or pullups. It's become this huge battleground between us; I think a lot of has to do with her baby sis getting so much attnention all day. I didn't stock up on size 5s because I never imagined she would still be in diapers now.

With the next, we're really going to push her at 18 months and encourage it strongly.

Quote from lovemychaos :
End of January is the best time to buy the left over Christmas toys. Walmart always has aisles of toy clearance where I live.
well, of course it is! Isn't that when most of us fill up our spare toy room? LMAO
Amazon always has a big toy sale last week of Nov/early Dec, too. The toys that are on sale then tend to be the same ones Target clearances out in Jan. Prices can be similar, too, so you don't have to stalk the Target stores to get what you want.

The only kitchen I saw on sale after Christmas was the stuff for the Rose Petal Cottage. Right now, Walmart has a nice plastic teaset in their redbox toys for $10. Covers most of the plates and silverware, plus you get a teapot. TRU had a B2G1 sale on their play food last year around this time, so watch those sales, too. DD actually has 3 tupperwares full of play food; I'm a kid's toy junkie like most of you...

Thats not funny.. I learned the hard way not to try and help ppl out.. tried to help a friend earn a WII for her kids.. she just helped herself to my Qs after I made it very clear she would need about 100 of the glade blinkies. she shows up to our mtg place and said "I got a lot.. 40 of them". Then assumes I will give her the rest. Then she didnt even TRY to help GIVE the darn Qs.. she had me do it while she stood there. lesson learned! Oh I was sooo pissed

Who doesn't love that movie?!?!?!

And BTW~NO, I WASN'T NAMED AFTER HER.....

The original Disney movie came out in 1989 and I came out in 1982.

I get a SB drink every day on the way to work and after the 18ish barista as my name and they always say "were you named after the little mermaid?!?!?!" Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I always say that I am older than that movie and they get all embarrassed laugh out loud

I was named after a cartoon character though: Princess Ariel [wikipedia.org]from Thundarr the Barbarian. My older bro (who was 5 at the time) named me. Grin Also, my middle name is from a popular princess of the time too bounce

Thanks for sharing the potty "age". I had thought it was around then, but the two grandmothers swear it is better to start at age 1! EEK! They think I am being "lazy" in not teaching my DD now. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) DD does indicate when she wants her diaper changed, but I think there is more that she will need to tell me before she is ready to start "training". I definitely will not be "forcing" her to do it! :shake

wave I also made the mistake of listening to others, and started potty-training at 1 year old. Didnt work out to well at all! Got to the point where, she refused to even take off her diapers, afraid that I was going to stick her on the potty. I just gave up after awhile, and just waited for her to tell me. After I had my 2nd baby, I started calling her a big girl, bought her Elmos potty video (not quite sure on the exact name). And one day magically she told me she wanted to use the potty, and that was pretty much it. My 4 year-old was potty trained by the time she was 2 years and 9 months old. She did it all in about a weeks worth of time, even at night she started getting up to use the bathroom, Pull Ups were dry, and I stopped putting them on her.

Now my 22 month old says she has to pee, and I put her on the toilet, but she wont pee in it. I just play along with her, and have not pushed her at all to pee in the toilet. Hopefully she will make it easy on me like her sister did. Just do what you feel is right, dont let others pressure you! Sorry for my super long post!

Quote from plgffl :
My daughter has a severe addiction to Tuna Helper. She eats it 4 days a week for lunch and 3 for dinner. (Its so expensive and I can never get a deal on it, argh!). The other day at lunch she eats an Uncrustable, strawberry only!
That is a lot of Tuna. I was told by my OBGYN (cuz of my baby) to be really careful of eating a lot of Tuna, I love it, but because of the Mercury I need to be careful and only eat it once or twice a week. If she has been eating the tuna for a long time you might want her Dr to test her mercury levels, just to be safe ya know?

Albacore:
According to FDA health standards, you can safely eat 1.3 ounces of Albacore tuna per week (assuming that every can of tuna has an average amount of mercury*). That's a quarter of a can of tuna. Albacore tuna has three times as much mercury as light tuna.

* EWG recommends that women of childbearing age and children under 5 not eat albacore tuna at all, because a significant portion of albacore tuna has very high mercury levels. People eating this tuna will exceed safe exposure levels by a wide margin.

Symptoms of Mercury Poisoning
By the Environmental Protection Agency
Impairment of the peripheral vision
Disturbances in sensations ("pins and needles" feelings, numbness) usually in the hands feet and sometimes around the mouth
Lack of coordination of movements, such as writing
Impairment of speech, hearing, walking;
Muscle weakness
Skin rashes
Mood swing
Memory loss
Mental disturbance
Mercury Exposure
Health problems caused by mercury depend on how much has entered your body, how it entered your body, how long you have been exposed to it, and how your body responds to the mercury. People are at risk when they consume mercury-contaminated fish and when they are exposed to spilled mercury.

Affected children may show red cheeks and nose, erythematous lips (red lips), loss of hair, teeth, and nails, transient rashes, hypotonia (muscle weakness), and photophobia. Other symptoms may include kidney disfunction (e.g. Fanconi syndrome) or neuropsychiatric symptoms (emotional lability, memory impairment, insomnia).

Thus, the clinical presentation may resemble pheochromocytoma or Kawasaki disease

I only get coupons off the internet so if there's something you want me to print, let me know. I'd love to trade before xmas!
Are these the Barbie peelies that say if you buy $100 worth of Barbie items? If so I have found two of them and do not think I will be buying much barbie items at all. My printer is screwed up right now and I would love a few printables!

Now that is a good idea! Plus DH has a habbit of opening these packs and eating a square of dough every now and then. Then the rest start drying up DD would love to use these in the EBO.

I was the WINDSHIELD today!!! Got a cute little boy cashier who is home on college break. I almost wanted to make out with him. Posting some details over here in Chat, because Chat is the new Deals if you haven't heard.
EBO Deal - Mix Q autodeducted $10.88. I'm wondering what would happen if I forgot to buy the oven. May have to check that out the next time my new friend is working.
Glade Deal
3 Cranium Xmas Games
2 Boxes Jelly Bellys (TPC 3/$4 - works beeplessly with tearpad found at ST)
2 LeapFrog
2 Disney Movies

I am not sure. I am going to call my hairdresser and ask her. She is a family friend (my hubby has known her since he was a kid) and I travel to a different city to have her cut our hair laugh out loud She is great and usually very inventive. I will ask her opinion and see what she comes up with. Maybe I will bring my make up with me and have her do it too LMAO

Great idea about the glade, though my bro is the one complaining and Yuk Kinda gross coming from me! HEY KATIE, or Teri's DD....... Evillaugh

I've had 2 in diapers for almost a year - we go through diapers like we breathe air! Thankfully they now both wear the same size. That is why the entire front end of my garage is occupied by a 5 ft high wall of diapers. It's the Great Wall of Pampers - could be considered the 8th wonder of the modern world Cool

Thanks! There is a "voice recorder" LF one that says it's for ages 3+. All the other $14.xx ones that I've seen say 12 months +. My 2 year old DS dug the DJ Radio one out of the T bag the other night and did NOT want to give it back. The farm and vehicle matching ones are cute. And DS is all about matching lately. He's getting one of those for xmas.

Got a you saved $189 at the bottom of my receipt and did it all with a 2 year old in tow. I know that's not a big accomplishment for some, but it's HUGE for me.
Great run! And the fact that you were able to do it with a 2 YO in tow is a HUGE accomplishment in my eyes! Wink

oh and my darling DH was getting a little overwhelmed at the amount of glade candles i have been accumulating. he was saying something like "wth are we going to put all this crap?! no more!"
i had a brilliant moment and told him honey give me 5 minutes and i have a perfect place for them. i took 10 glade candles up to my bedroom did a quick change , lit them all and called him upstairs.TeeheeBlush4Kissgrin
