Google is replacing defective Nexus 6P units with the Pixel XL for users in Canada, UK, and US, but there are certain conditions you must meet.

Main Conditions
  1. Device was bought directly from Google(Don't have to be the first owner). They will validate IMEI
  2. Device is having bootlooping/battery issues(Not sure if they check for this). They will ask to reset device and check before submitting the RMA
  3. Device do not have cracked screen or water damage issues. They can confirm if you send the pictures.
Replacement will be send first and following that old device has to be returned before the deadline.

There is a reddit thread with lot of useful info.

No longer covering devices outside of warranty multiple sources on Reddit reporting it including this email:

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting Google Support!
My name is [redacted name] and I am the next level supervisor here. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you due to this. As I can see that the device is faulty and need to be replaced.
Since the device is out of warranty and hence we would not be able to replace the device for you. We had replaced some of the device earlier but the policies have changed now. We've re-evaluated our servicing policies and cannot provide a replacement for your issue. Your best option for additional service on this is to contact the original manufacturer of the device, Huawei. I'm happy to provide you their contact information with you.
Thanks! [redacted name] The Google Support Team
T&Cs found at the bottom of the RMA confirmation email:

Wish they would have done this with the boot looping Nexus 5s.

Thanks for the heads-up! I've been having battery issues for a long time now and called them a while back, but didn't get any help or relief. I guess I will try again.

Mine was from New Egg, and I advised it was a gift of unknown origin. My issue was actually routed through ProjectFi. I had used GoogleFi for a couple months, but I hadn't used it for almost a year.

I got my Pixel XL for my 6p 11 days ago. I am sending back my 6p today.

This was my 4th 6p from them. This may have allowed my original device IMEI to disappear from the paper trail. My 4th repalcement device was indeed a brand new 6p from the google play store, hence removing the new egg device long ago.

Bought my 6P from the Google Store at launch. The screen on my first 6P lifted from the device. My replacement 6P from Google was refurbished. The GPS was never accurate and it recently started shutting off with 20% battery left.

I contacted Google through chat support on my device and they quickly agreed to send me a NEW Pixel XL. I love it so far. I'll definitely be ordering my phones from Google directly from now on.

I bought mine used but was from a person who bought it from Google and I'm having early shut off issues. I wonder if they will let me swap mine out?

Yes they will. You don't have to be the first owner. Will update that in the post.
