Not saying this is bad deal..... But 1.2k for this is still too high. I have been waiting for lower but looks like they adopt the approach to raise price for newer model and never need to reduce price for older Model.

Show me another camera that comes close in quality and features for the same price. This thing is a beast...

Now need to get a 10-18mm lens and a crane and I'm golden.

I have to agree with both of you. The camera is amazing and not much in that price point can match but I still think the price could be lower. Having picked up an a6000 in early '15 (also amazing at the time) for $400 open box with lens, it's hard to justify this.

Can anybody comment on the IBIS for video purposes? I have a a6000 and thinking of upgrading, but if it's not much better I might just keep my a6000 and get lenses instead.

How will this be outdated? If at all an A7III is released, it would have a very high price point. A6 line is for the affordable buyer. The A6500 would only be outdated when an A6700 or an A7000 drops.

Apparently due to a new flange design and better AF, the 6500 in conjunction with a $100 adapter can use nearly any lens with full functionality.

An APS-C body for $1300+ does seem overpriced. Really, you'd expect a full-frame body once you hit the $1500-range. I guess it's meant to be equivalent to the Canon 7D.

Have to disagree there--rokinon/samyang/bellhowell have some great UWA lenses available for $300 or less (ff compatible also). If you specifically need AF and Sony-made lenses, there's always the Sony 20mm pancake, which is fantastic and can be had for about $250 used. There's also the fantastic 28mm (ff), which can be 16mm (fisheye) / 20mm (WA) with available lens adapters.
