$40 off regular price. Still 'pricey' given the mining craze but thought I'd share this anyways!

This will be $10 cheaper on Nov. 20, 2017 from Newegg:

https://slickdeals.net/f/10773219-newegg-black-friday-evga-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-gddr5-video-card-for-179-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch

But if it sells out, this is still a decent deal ($10 less than suggested retail price of 1060's when they first hit the market).

I don't think these are the same since I don't think the Newegg one is the SC version, but either way good to know, thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the "good one" in terms of EVGA mini models

I found this useful http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Nvid...ating/3646
Scroll down to Popular Cards to see comparison of all manufacturers.
Looks as if the EVGA SC is about 4% faster than the EVGA Gaming. I think the extra $10 for SC @ B&H is worth it to get now and not the slower one from NewEgg on BF.

It's not just faster. From what I read it has better cooling than the non-SC version.

I built a system with an i7-6700K and have been using the cpu graphics waiting for prices to not be so crazy. Would this be a significant step up from the Intel 530HD onboard graphics? I want something better but looking for something to get my by for some gaming until prices drop a bit.

Yes. I know many people will come and say "It's only 3GB". So. 3GB enough right now.

Depends where you are. Factoring in sales tax, that Newegg one can be more expensive than this B&H deal.

Exactly what I've been waiting for. Now I just need to find a reliable, quiet and efficient ~400W power supply.

Similar boat as you, mine was a re-build and it's been sitting with no-GPU for over a year... remember seeing this card for $140-ish and passed b/c I wanted the 6GB model. Really hate how it seems like there's no end to this inflated GPU prices.

If you're planning on sticking to 1080p gaming, this card would handle pretty much anything just fine.

Crazy how much these have gone up in price. I got mine (1060 3gb) for $160 shortly after it launched. Not this exact card, but this one was probably $170 at the time.
