Coupon code 50OFF699 not working on the 128G SSD+1tb model

only works on the 256G ssd model now... So I just bought the 256G mode.

Looks like a really great deal. 1060 under $1000 is always good.

Not when compared to 45W Quad Core HQ Series processors. All currently released 8th Gen Processors bring more performance over 15W ULV Dual Core 7th Generation processors, not over a Quad Core 45W HQ series processors.
The highest end i7-8550U still perform below a i5-7300HQ and when running for longer time with high CPU load, that will throttle down to lower clock speed due to only 15W TDP.

Wish more laptops start updating to the 8th gen processors as performance seems to be a big boost.

How big of a jump is the difference between i5 and i7? Is this model i5 comparable to the i7s in other laptops at this price point?

For pure gaming, not much. For CPU intensive tasks like Editing, Video Encoding, good amount.
