What's your sample size, 4 dead out of X? And after how long? None of mine have had any problems 24/7 with my own custom bios. 1100 MHz core, 2100 MHz memory, 120W TDP limit.
These cards are the exact same as the GAMING series. Identical silicon lottery on the memory and core. The only difference is ARMOR cards get issued a cooler that's one generation older (prev GAMING generation's cooler), and does not receive a back-plate.
I just bought this card should I cancel the order and spend 30$ more for the msi gaming x card?
I have six ARMOR 580 4Gs running 24/7 at 60-62C temps. I think the people who have problems are those who overclocked and kept it running 70-80C without proper cooling and ventilation. I personally would not hesitate to buy and continue using the ARMOR series. MSI is a tier 1 brand in general with good quality worksmanship. They also offer a 3 year warranty that's longer than their competitors if you do have problems.
The 1060 and 580 trade blows depending on what graphics vendor the game is optimized for. 1060 is more power efficient. Choice between 1060 and 580 will also be whether you choose or have a gsync vs freesync monitor, if that matters.

Can you share the BIOS? I have exact same problem on this card? It revs up to 100% fan before crash. It is way hotter than Gaming card.

With all due respect, I concur. Sounds like bios editing gone wrong.
I think cooling lacked. I am having cooling issue. I am thinking of getting a vehicle AC and make Box for the Rigs in the middle of my gaming room.
