Just a heads up to all that are purchasing the Pixel 2 (non-XL). There is a widespread buzzing/whining sound that emanates from the top of the phone once the battery drops below 85 to 90%. It happens constantly, but is most noticeable on phone calls when your ear is closest to the device (not using speakerphone or Bluetooth). People are reporting headaches after phone calls - I myself had this problem, and had to return my device a few weeks ago.
This is DIFFERENT from the clicking/popping noise that was reported and fixed in the November update. Google claims it will be fixed in an upcoming update, which everyone expects to be December, but there is still skepticism - so if you are buying now, keep your original box and packing materials to ship it back in case that doesn't fix it.
For reference, here's the original thread with a recording of both the clicking/popping and buzzing/whining: https://productforums.g
Here are 2 additional threads created specifically for the buzzing/whining to get Google to acknowledge the issue: https://productforums.g
