I just called AT&T at 800-288-2020 and asked them to match the Sprint $350 off any Samsung phone and they gave me 50% off if I purchase the cell phone outright.
I got the Samsung S8 Active for $425 + tax, with priority shipment and no activation fees.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

No change in access line fee for new unlimited plans (and possibly old unlimited plans)
*I can confirm that there are no changes in the access line fees (or any other charge) for upgrading with the old unlimited plans. Upgraded both of my lines on the old unlimited plan with an iPhone X 64 gb for $549.99 each (paid upfront). - Leepoffaith
This is NOT A LOYALTY PROMO! All it is is bringing us back to supposed discounted phones BUT again slapping us with $20 access fees each line which essentially in a 2 year agreement pays the other half of the phone.
I was on an unlimited voice/text with a 3GB data plan (capped at 3GB LTE then slows down) and paying $72 a month with my foundation discount. While I did get the offer of $499.99 for the 8+ 256GB and $699.99 for the X 256GB, it requires me paying an additional $20 access fee each line. So the access fee of $40 on 2 lines x 24 = $960. The 8+ 256GB is $499.99 + $88 tax (9.25% SOCAL tax on the retail price). The X 256GB is $699.99 + $106. So both phones cost $1394. Add initial supposed LOYALTY discounted phone cost $1394 + the access fees of $960 = $2353.98.
If you had bought the phones outright at $949 for the 8+ and $1149 for the X, your total would be $2292. How can that be slick? LOL You end up paying more for both phones with this supposed LOYALTY deal!
^^^^This only applies if you're on a mobile share plan, if you're on unlimited your line access does not increase. So it makes it a great deal if you are not planning on switching (and have FAN discounts).
I'm mad. I went through chat, got transferred to loyalty department, lady offered me either a free Samsung J5 or an iPhone X for $594.99. I said I'll do the iPhone. She said she could do the transaction via chat and asked for my credit card number. Before I could give it to her it said she left the chat. I tried calling back and got transferred to the loyalty department. This lady said I'm making it up because they don't do 2 year commitments anymore and the only way to get the phone cheaper is to make a higher down payment!!
My experience:
Plan: AT&T Unlimited Plus (Jan 2016, switched from FamilyTalk Nation unlimited plans to Mobile share value. May 2017, switched from mobile share value to unlimited plus). 5 smartphones + 2 iPads at $20/month each.
1. Clicked live chat, clicked shopping, waited for someone to come, asked to be connected to loyalty agent. Took about 1 hour due to the "unusually high rate of people requesting loyalty dept right now" according to the chat rep.
2. Finally got connected to Loyalty. Asked about iPhone offers. She led off with 24/30 month installment plans. I asked if there are any offers for purchasing the phone in full. She "went to look" and came back with $699 256gb iPhone X offer. I took it on 3 of my lines (all were upgrade ready, as I haven't bought phones on those lines in 3-4 years.)
3. Asked about activation fees, she said there are, but she'll "wave them for me ", asked about any single change in my bill, she said there would be absolutely no changes in my bill, and no other fees.
4. Took about 45 minutes in total to process all 3 lines. Gave her my cc info, and shipped to a different address than the one in my account (shipped to delaware, hoping it'll cancel out the taxes since its a sales-tax-free state, but i'm not 100% sure if that will work since my billing/account address is in NJ.)
5. She sent me an email to accept the T&C (phones were listed at full retail price in email ($1149), but she assured me that the discount will take affect). I accepted the T&C, and saved live chat for future proof/reference.
Good luck to those trying to replicate! It was super easy after I finally got connected to a loyalty agent
Did anyone asked how much will be ETF if we cancel before 2 years?
i think you were told wrong. there is no way they do not up the line access if its a 2 year. thats the whole reason they subsidized the phone with a 2year was by uping the monthly
It's right on AT&T's site. The new unlimited plans have a $20 access fee, regardless of the agreement. The exception is for Business plans.

Thank you for detailing this out! Just got put on the wait list to chat with a a loyalty service person. Here's hoping they can offer the same on my two lines.
Got it first try, was offered $699 for 256. I bought the phone outright at apple on release day - off it goes back - expected delivery is dec 20th. Already paying $40 access fee on FT700 w/ grand father unlimited.
Talked to retention - was offered 50% off with 2 year contract but would work either
1. If the account is already on unlimited plan the access fee still remains $20 per month irrespective account is on contract or not.
OR
2. If the account is not on unlimited plan either pay $40 access fee per month or switch to unlimited plan to reduce access fees.
i think you were told wrong. there is no way they do not up the line access if its a 2 year. thats the whole reason they subsidized the phone with a 2year was by uping the monthly
The new unlimited plan has a flat access fee per device, regardless of where it comes from.
Did your plan change? The last time I looked, if it was BYOD, the per line charge was $15 to $20 cheaper than when you bought from AT&T directly. Basically, in order to get the cheaper phone cost spread over 24 months, you had to go to a higher per month line cost, that negated the discount.

If you can replicate the deal, you will see I was told right. Unlimited plus. Single line.

Got transferred to the loyalty deployment and guy said he could do the iPhone X BOGO but only if I added another line?
Going to call tomorrow and see if I get a different response.

Duck. I hate being on a business plan. Although our line access is currently $20.
