OK, so I just found this thread and I am totally love it. You guys are awesome. I have always been "chunky" and then I packed on 30lbs in a year when I took a stressful job, then I got preggers and gained another 50lbs.
UGH! Well that was 2 yrs ago and I am still up 60lbs! UGH!

I have absolutely no willpower! I want to lose weight I am just lazy. I even admit it, I am super duper lazy! So anyways I think I am going to join you all here! And keep up with the thread.
I have already decided that I am going to start eating.cooking healthier, I bought the Hungry Girl Cookbook and it is awesome. I am trying to stick with the WW points plan. I am still trying to look for exercise suggestions, gym membership is out of the question right now because I am not working and DBF just got laid off.
I was thinking about taking a pilates class at the Community College.
Well I've alrwady said a lot so that's it for now.

okay you girls with the zumba are nuts. lol. i looked over every youtube video i could find when my campus opened up a class. i tried it out and i felt like i was going to die about 15 minutes in... and i can get through 60 minutes of spinning fine laugh out loud

cant wait to hear how everyone's doing! and just as a reminder, cleansers are hype and otc meds are slightly dangerous (except alli, which does work as long as you do low-cal). i'm partial to special k and zone, but slimfast and nutrisystem are great options too. i odnt know of anyone who's done nutrisystem in a while so i'm curious how ya'll are making out on it Smilie

and i'm at another plateau so i'm definitely open to suggestions on how to jumpstart anything hug

I just found a class that is $7 per class or $25 for 8. I think I will try 1 and then if I like it (can do it) then I will sign up for more.

Has anybody tried that new Lipton Sparkling green tea? I want to try it so bad, I am addicted to soda for the fiizziness! And I thought this might be a great alternative.

The slimfast does work but for me it was too hard to stick to.

cloud9 have you tried or looked at the Hungry -Girl website. She has tons and tons of great recipes!!

this is effectively my first day on nutrisystem... it's pretty clear that boredom is my enemy nod starting on a day where I had nothing planned has been a challenge, I suspect work days will be much, much easier

I've been hitting the gym. Friday night was a baaad night. I am considered it my "off" night. I woke up early on Saturday and did 2 glasses, Aqua Aerobics (which was a lot of strength & resistance) and then Zumba. Both an hour long Whee

Does anyone else want to join me in a first of the month weigh in tomorrow? Just post losses or gains, no numbers unless you want to.

Zumba is fun, but tiring too. I stopped watching my movements in the mirror in front of me, I'm not as coordinated as I thought I was. But I sweat, and that's all that matters.

I'm trying to figure out how many calories an hour you burn during Zumba. SparkPeople.com does not have Zumba listed in their Cardio selections.

BTW, I burned 3500 calories last week Yahoo!

Yay! I read that Zumba can burn up to 900 cals? I just looked into it and would be interested in a class, but don't want to join a gym. Hmm... I will have to think about it.

Look into your local Parks & Rec or Community College. I signed up for a summer class through my Community College. I then found a local 24 hr fitness with 2 classes a week. I can't terminate my account, I get a year for $50. It's too good of a deal!

I bummed, I gained 2 pounds. This weekend wasn't the greatest, but I didn't eat that bad.

I went to a step class this morning and looked like a total ass. I left half way through. I was really frustrated because I arrived 15 minutes early & told the instructor I was new which gave her time to show me some of the moves.

i actually just bought an OXO (good grips) food scale from Kohls with the early bird sale, this one that BBB also has (digital) [bedbathandbeyond.com]. might be affordable if you have a $10/$30 or 20% hanging around. Kmart has a basic food scale [kmart.com] (not digital)- $9.99 and Sears has a digital scale [sears.com]- $28.99. hth!

this is where it gets difficult, I have a solid week of travel for work, totally on a weird schedule and none of the food with me, we'll see how I resist this week in the face of eating out for 8 days in a row
