Find me a good deal with a 1080p display and i5 8th gen around this price point than..
I don't need to. The screen is absolutely unacceptable. Manufacturers need to quit putting shitty 1333X768 screens in laptops and obfuscating that detail so we have to dig to find it. It's 2018 for Christ's sake. Also, screen resolution should absolutely be in the title and the listed specs on the thread so people's time isn't wasted.

Feedback noted going forward. Updated title and listed specs on the thread. Personally, I would still consider this for a daily driver on a budget for school or future-proofing the parents with an internet-machine that will remain capable for a few years. A lot of the cheaper options seem to be something that is barely usable now.

There is definitely a hole in the market at the moment for something this price with a 1080 screen.
We've got the Acer here with a 7th gen i3, similar hard drive, same graphics chipset, less (but easily upgradeable) RAM, and a 1080 screen for $80 less: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
You'd think for something around your pricepoint we could find recent gen i5 with a 1080 screen, but we're apparently not there yet. The more I think about the specs you posted the angrier I am that the screens are so bad. These would absolutely be a great deal if not for the screen.
