As another option, Cerebus76 pointed out this similar laptop for $350[amazon.com] to me in another thread yesterday. It only has 4GB of RAM, but it is a new computer (rather than this refurb), has no rebate to deal with, is easily upgradable, and has 1920x1080 resolution if screens are your thing.

Also, while it may just be my perception, I feel like Asus laptops generally have better build quality at the same price point as comparable HPs (at least when prices are below $1,000).
The one you link is Acer not Asus. Generally the higher end Acers are decent too but that bottom line is hit and miss it seems and their support is horrible.
No PC utilizing Intel CPU is a deal at this time given the serious security risks recently disclosed and the significant performance hit the CPU will take as a result of the necessary software work-arounds. At bottom, you don't know the actual performance you will end up getting once the necessary software fixes are deployed. Nor do we know how it will impact battery life & efficiency. Play it safe and buy the faster AMD Ryzen (desktop) or Raven Ridge (laptop) based PCs as the security flaw does not affect AMD CPUs, and thus, they will not be subject to the performance sapping software fixes.
This is unrelated to the other recent disclosures concerning security vulnerabilities related to the Intel CPU management engine in previous generation CPUs.

I had quite the brain fart there. That said, I'd still go for the new Acer over this refurbished laptop deal for $10 more.

15.6" diagonal HD SVA WLED-backlit touch screen (1366 x 768)
The screen is the biggest drawback, otherwise it's a solid laptop for the price.
