Yea it's a bummer Microsoft sold off flight sim. It's on Steam now and I picked it up for like $3 last year. People are still adding new planes and scenery.

Yeah, I can only imagine the kind of 4K powerhouse we could have if there was some sort of industrial/simulation based project that was commercially available.

If you ask me, Microsoft dropping their flight simulator and their links game were two of the dumbest things they could have done. Could you imagine them being modernized and bundled with VR / AR?

Well most people I know use this with the Flight Simulator X still. X-plane is still pushing updates. Their latest one was 11.11 on Dec 7 2017.

The Aces developers who were responsible for Flight Simulator moved on to P3D. P3D is, to me at least, the natural extension of FSX. It's also current and many add-on companies are currently developing for it.

It's back! Just announced a new version from Microsoft coming in 2020.
