How does the Verizon NFL streaming work, you ask?

- Only for smartphones (i.e. no tablet, no connected TVs) *note from OP, yet to be determined, some chrome cast works from app on Nexus 7, live might not.
- Only on Yahoo Sports app or Yahoo Sports mobile web
- You must enable location services
- Free for all, regardless of whether you have Verizon.
-------------
This weekend's schedule is:

Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 (4:35 p.m. ET): Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles (NBC)

Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 (8:15 p.m. ET): Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots (CBS)

Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 (1:05 p.m. ET): Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers (CBS)

Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 (4:40 p.m. ET): New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings (FOX)

And, in case you're planning ahead, the Super Bowl is Sunday, Feb. 4 with a 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

please leave the politics out of it. Yahoo Sports even works on my Chomebook and has some Chromecast support. With NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA, MLB, MLS and more on Yahoo Sports

edit, maybe I was jumped the gun but hope subject does not turn into a political football, nip it in the bud.

Hopefully it'll have support Chromecast. Frontier is currently in battles with our local CBS affiliate, so I miss out on half the playoffs.

wahoo, it does have Chomecast support. Easy login with ymail account pretty slick but further testing needed. I could hook up HDMI to chromebook in a pinch, live NFL might be more of a problem.

too early to tell but things are going in the right direction. I'm having some trouble with chromecast, I need NFL on the big screen, there may be some limitations. update, able to cast screen from top menu of Nexus 7. The app runs well enough and will try HDMI out next.

actually looks like VZW is still involved NFL fans can livestream playoff games on the Yahoo Sports app, courtesy of Verizon.
The NFL and Verizon signed the streaming deal in December, which reportedly will cost more than $1.5 billion over five years. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/09/o...ekend.html

edit, you can tell it's a mobile app on my chromebook but the chrome cast does work (not casting just screen). Better than nothing for poor folks out of range of OTA. I have Directv Now but this will be a good backup solution.

Who said anything about politics?

The officials have been terrible; touchdowns keep getting called back under extremely questionable circumstances by a single guy in NYC, they're constantly adding rules that make the game much less enjoyable to watch...and I say this as a huge football fan.

I'll probably continue to watch in the winter since I'm not a fan of sub-freezing weather and don't go outside as much on the weekends. But the NFL's product has been pretty lousy this year when compared to a few years ago (or college football) and it's getting harder to choose to stay inside on a nice autumn Sunday instead of going out and doing something active.

Said you have not watched all year then say how the refs suck

it will be fun finding out, I'll have to try that except all I got is the Yahoo! app.. Seems like a PC of laptop might be able to cast a chrome tab too but I haven't seen it yet. I have two HTPC over HDMI so no need. More info from twitter
