Good basic set unless you need to go to 60/120V.

You won't get far with this circular saw and a 1.3ah battery. It's a good start though. I just got the flexvolt circular saw and it's night and day if you need to make some real cuts.

Agreed 1.3 are nice for general use since they are light, but are completely useless for the circular saw. You really need the 60v for the higher amp tools as they are more efficient. The interesting thing is that the 60v and 20v tools are essentially the same battery cells. With a 60v batteries are dual wired so they run three groups of cells in parallel to get 20v or in a series to get 60v.

Expect to drop more on some 4amp+ hour batteries. Also I assume that this kit is not the fast charger.

Agree with what's been said. The saw will work ok for cutting thin material, like 3/8" plywood, and can cut 2x4 lumber but slower than larger saws. They are nice for working in weird spots though, like overhead. And yes that battery is basically useless for anything but the smallest task.

Recently bought a 36V and 2 - 5ah and it's more like a regular saw.

Yes, but you'll be able to do the job much faster and better with a chop saw. You'll also need a table saw for rip cuts, and a jig saw for contours and larger holes.

if you just need the drivers costco is selling the drill and impact tool for $199 but with two three amp hour batteries, which are just about right for serious work with those tools. Also agree with previous posters that at least a 4 amp, preferably larger needed for the trim saw to do anything more than picture frames etc
