Router was great and is still great. If you need a better router, you'd be tech savvy enough to know which one you need. This should work great for all homes with like, less than 10 people, and less than a few thousand square feet.

Seriously, mine has held up to having a ton of gamers over at the same time. It's not super up-to-date but the router performed basically flawlessly in my ~1800sqft apartment.
It may be old, but it's a sweet deal for a basic set up on 16x4 ISP speeds
Good deal for the average user. A tad old for advanced

Lots of factors to consider. If the current router is matching the speed of the Ethernet port connection, then typically having a faster router isn't going to make the Wi-Fi faster. Maybe more reliable connection.

The only way it might improve your speed is if you have an old modem that doesn't support multi band speeds. With modern hardware the speeds are completely controlled by your isp and how they configure your line.

If you're renting outdated hardware, your isp should be happy to swap it for a newer model free of charge as yours will be considered end of life and they would rather support current models.

Not likely. If it's a combo router modem most likely the router is better.

You'd do well to check your packet loss in the modem settings if you aren't getting the advertised speed wired.

192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or if you have separate modem and router check 192.168.100.1.
