$200 Slickdeals Rebate on purchases over $999.99
This laptop is priced AT $999.99. Good reason for SD to deny your rebate :-)
But, the MBP def feels more premium and I still think Apple has one of the best trackpads ever. The XPS trackpad supports a ton of gestures like the MBP will, but I find the MBP's trackpad a lot smoother.
Performance wise, XPS will beat MBP based on your config. If I had choose, XPS is significantly more worth it and it won't even be considered a "compromise" or "step-down" in my books.
Only time I would go with Apple now is if money is completely not a concern and I want to stay within the Apple ecosystem. Everything works seamlessly if you have an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, etc. But, it's a ridiculously expensive and overpriced ecosystem to stay in (I've been slowly migrating out over the past 3 years). Don't get me wrong, I love the ecosystem but it's not worth the price tag for me anymore.
** also check your most frequently used applications to see if it's available on OS X/Windows before making the decision.

One more question.
My new SW premier plus CC should be delivered by end of day tomorrow, can I place my order now use my discover card, then call Dell tomorrow to change the payment type to the SW card?
Will that mess up the SD rebate?
Don't want this to be out of stock by tomorrow.
DO you have a ssd in the macbook?
Did you modified the original configuration by any chance?
