I had service free for a year and dropped them after two months. The internet was unusable on my phone.

I haven't dropped them yet but yeah alot of my apps don't work due to only ipv6 connections

Port out to Ting & port back in worked for me when I somehow changed on the daughter's phone causing me to lose the free plan. They have like a undisclosed 5 day min port waiting period though, it's lame! Sprint has a referral program also, pair up with someone & both sides make $50 per line.

There's a peculiar workaround I found to get a $100 LG X Charge on Sprint when already on free plan.
Get a $100 Virgin Mobile model, boot it up, & when prompted to activate on the VM login page-login with Sprint # and Sprint Pin.
Will take it's sweet time to activate, but I did this with 4 LG X Charges over a month ago & they appear as BYOD on acct page and acct will still be free plan. Good luck getting them unlocked to port to somewhere else is only disclaimer.
