This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

You know, I am still annoyed about it. I got MA'd for explaining how I get my Glade coupons out of the holder box. Apparently they thought I took my exacto knife into the store with me and did it, and I was talking about when I get home I slice them open carefully so that no one can tell. I was pissed about that one.
yeah, I would have been too. Too much MA'ing for the wrong reasons. Especially in the K thread.

Its a self checkout yes.

You rent the movie there, you will need a credit or debit card in order to rent. If you do not return the movie they will charge you a late fee for each day until a certain amount of days are up and then you will own the movie. (I think it is like 25 days @ $1 per day). You have to take the movie back if you do not want to incrue late charges. Its a really simple process! Smilie

I really don't like this time of year...sorry for being a "bah humbug" type person, but I'm like this every year. This time of year brings out the worst in a lot of people.

Go up to the machine. You will see button on the screen. Touch the one that says "rent a DVD" OR if you look at the bottom, you will see one that says, "Rent a DVD with a promo code." If you push that one in, you will be prompted for your code first. Make sure you hit enter, and that the machine accepts your code. Then you will get to scroll through pages and pages of the movies that that machine has available. Since you can return any Redbox movie to any Redbox machine, what any given Redbox has depends on who's been returning what DVDs to that machine.

Anyway, once you decide what you want, push the button that says, "Add to cart." Then, "checkout." If you already added your code, you will see that you have a zero balance. If not, push the button for "Enter a promo code." Enter your code. Make sure that the machine accepts it and on the checkout page, again, you will see a zero balance. You will still have to swipe your credit card. Decline to enter your email address. (The codes are one use per credit card/email address, but if you just choose not to enter your email address, then they are one use per credit card.) The movie will be spit out of a slot on one side of a machine.

When you go to return the movie, realize that you must push the button on the screen that says "Return a DVD." I say this b/c the first time I went to return one, I stood there for several minutes trying to shove the DVD back in the slot before I noticed the button. Doh

NOTE: all these instructions are born from the ONE time I asked my DH to go get a Redbox movie, gave him a code and my credit card to swipe. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Somehow I still ended up paying for it.

NOTE2: These Monday/day of the week codes that they email out are good for all, but be aware that some of the codes listed on the insideredbox.com site are regional or very short lived. Sometimes I'll go there with a list of like 10 codes and none will work for me, or I'll have to go through a lot before one will. That's why I usually make sure there's actually a movie I want before I bother entering the codes.

Once you find a code that works for your area, you can use each one once for each credit card you have. This doesn't matter much for the 24 hour codes, but sometimes you can find one that's good for a lot longer than that and keep using it. Smilie

Oh, I remember that post! what a crock! If they had actually read it and the surrounding posts, they would have seen that we were at home trying to get the Qs out while maintaining the gift-giving quality of the actual item. dumbasses...the lot of them (the lurkers and MAers in the T and K threads Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) ) hug for stupidity hon!

As plgffl explains, each rental period is 1 day (til 9 PM, I believe), so if you can't get back the next day this might not be the system for you. They will LET you keep the movie forever if you want. Teehee It just won't be a very good deal after the first 24 hours.

It's $1 per day. Your code gets you 1 day free. If you keep it beyond that, it continues to be $1 per day up to 30 days, I believe, then you own it.

Does anyone else get all antsy when you want to go to T? My husband doesn't get off work until 8, and I can't wait to get out the house. I need to use these glade coupons that are burning a hole in my coupon pocket holder. Coverlaugh
yes!!! i start to worry, too, that all my cashiers will be gone by the time i get there. DH will say, "it's not late. It's 8 and they are open til 11." I think to myself, yes. but my cashiers leave at 9. Frown hehe

Quote from dirtluvingal :
Similar thing happened to me over the weekend. The cashier would only allow one of each kind of coupon per purchase. She said I would have to go to the back of the line to do another transaction. It seems like T is really cracking down on Q usage.
i think some make up their own rules, too. i've heard that samething about 1 out of 100 times.

Hi Guys Wave we are setting up a buddy system. here's how it works.
each person who signs up gets a buddy. They email any info, new updates, or intresting things Cool they think is important to share.
Each person has ONE buddy. example

tom's buddy is Dick. He sends all his info to dick,
dick's buddy is Harry-he sends all his info to Harry
Harry's buddy is Sally- Harry sends sends all his info to Sally.
and so forth.
nice post and nice work with all that. but, where is skynsam when i need her?? did you see some funny words like i did??! (cause sometimes we are 12) She said harry and dick in the same sentence. Secret

Quote from Sharon52680 :
I had that happen twice in a row when I was shopping with my friend. Both times I was like, "oh, I forgot something..." and walked away!
i do that, too!!! then i walk around and come back about 5 minutes later and all is good. Cool

I am so glad that I'm not the only one who has done this! I felt like such an idiot!!!

On another totally unrelated and off topic subject, does anyone know if I can use an oven bag in place of a slow-cooker liner?
I want to make something in the crock pot but I accidently picked up oven bags instead of the crock-pot liners. Wondering if they work the same.

ETA - just googled it and it looks like the two are interchangeable!
