Ultra thin 5.95mm thick mechanical watch with the ETA 7001 movement. It is rare to find a mechanical watch <6mm for under $1000. The same movement is found in dress watches by Nomos, Stowa, Blacpain, Omega (Cal. 651), Junghans, Baume & Mercier, Bell & Ross, Tissot, ect.
Regular price is £595 which should convert to $845 USD. C. Ward has dropped the US price to $680. Using code
125SPRING18, price drops even further to $555.

In terms of watches one would cross shop versus this one, the major ones that come to mind would be the Hamilton Intra-Matic, or even better, the Seiko SDGM001. Both watches are significantly thicker than the Malvern in this post because both watches are automatic (versus the Malvern, which is hand-wind only).
All offer a similar aesthetic, with the Malvern being the most basic and austere, the Intra-Matic being next-most flashy, and the Seiko Brightz being pretty flashy , but still great (and similar to the legendary Seiko SARB065 Cocktail Time).
Nice deal!

I think the best watches to compare for cross shop with similar design and movement are the Junghas Meister [junghanswatchesusa.net] or Nomos Tangente [nomos-glashuette.com].
I love my Ward watch, it's classy and perhaps unknown to people who aren't into watches...but beautiful and quality craftsmanship.
NM, I googled it. Nice looking watch.

Lack of a second hand kills it for me. Will probably end up with a Nomos dress watch for that reason.

More akin to the "Grand Malvern" range. I want to love this watch, but when I see a timepiece sans second hand my inclination is to assume it's housing a quartz movement.
Lastly, the unsung hero of them all it is the Orient 2nd Generation Bambino v3 for $115-135.
