Ihave a Gretsch electromatic , made in korea. It is a gem. I play it more than my USA made fender strat. Dunno about this one. Indonesia is probably worst quality than China.
Picked this up the last time it was on sale, worth every penny. Came perfectly set up out of the box and the sound is surprisingly versatile, I think I like it better than my MIM strat

Why the hate for Indonesia? If you do a basic search for Indonesian made guitars there is a large consensus that the quality is better or is no different than Chinese made.
This is in the context of new guitars. One caveat: each guitar is different, no matter where it's made. It's best to play before buying. If ordering online, there are plenty of forums that give model specific reviews as to quality and country of origin.
To promote an equation representing QC of country of origin is over-generalizing. Deciding on a guitar is a very subjective and individualized process.
It's not. Indonesia is better than China for guitars.
Agreed. I have a Squier Deluxe Strat that's Indonesian and it's a great guitar that compares well to my MIM Fender for build quality. I haven't played a Streamliner but have a couple of (Korean) 5420's and Fender has been really on top of QC for the whole range.

Indonesia
I think build quality is fairly level in some cases and it comes down to hardware quality.
I'm trying to resist the urge to get this!

What would you say is the difference in sound/tone between a Strat and Gretch?
