I have read that this model has Bluetooth chip, jus needs a update?not sure how true it is?
This seems unlikely. The current (2nd generation) Chromecast has been around for 3 years. It would be odd for the hardware to be in place for all that time and not be implemented.
But, great price on this one. I have the 2nd gen and it works exactly as described. Also, there are tons of 3rd party apps to integrate the device into your home system and make it easier to use. The 2nd gen is great and I can't think of how it's going to be improved beyond adding bluetooth.
For the 3rd gen, I hope Google gets rid of their dependency on Internet. I know people who want to use them on the go (e.g. car, hotel, etc) without having to setup a hotspot. The old Miracast worked great without any internet or hotspot needed, but Google removed support in their devices (e.g. Pixel).

Google removed hotspot support about 18 months ago... Chromecast is now completely worthless to ppl that travel or want to easily and quickly blast their phone to a tv at someone else's house.
edit: looks like Google may have restored hotspot functionality a while later.
