Posture?

940 257 October 14, 2018 at 07:22 PM
Anyone else here concerned about their posture and know tips to fix it? I have to sit for a long period of time all day (both work + school) and I feel like I've been doing something wrong due to irregular back & shoulder pains at a young age ( I know they could be due to a myriad of reasons but maybe posture is one)

There seems to be a lot of conflicting suggestions on improving posture (besides just exercise) online so I was wondering if anyone here does something different?

I personally exercise - you need to keep muscles strong- I had disc problems and keeping strong and stretched has made a world of difference - But they do make all sorts of posture belts - https://www.google.com/search?q=p...36&bih=701
I would personally not recommend using these for long periods of time because they would just cause your back to become weaker.

I exercise (core and back)and use a Teeter inversion table. A few minutes inverted will straighten your spine instantly. You will also probably be an inch taller for about the next 24 hrs. No need to go completely upside down, a comfortable semi inverted angle works too.

If possible, you might try sitting on and exercise ball at work tho' it probably wouldn't be easy to do at school. Practicing yoga helps me to remember to keep my core engaged and my shoulders relaxed and down from around my ears. laugh out loud You might even set an alarm on your phone, at short intervals and check your posture.

Well, I guess on the bright side, since getting diagnosed with Celiac disease, I haven't been to any buffets.
