bought these today for 12.99. planned on using them for indoor christmas lights since i couldn't justify the cost of 4 smart plugs just to use for like 1 month a year. they are crap the remote doesn't seem to work 100% of the time so i can't reliably turn things on or off. save yourself the time

Seems ok to me. Probably 433MHz like the Etekcity outlets. Is that a button on the front to control it?

yup that's a button to turn it on or off. i never could get the remote to properly pair so will gecreturnibg tomorrow

I found this at my local costco for 12.99
I used them on my garage shop lights and it works great.
I think the remote has a sleep function similar to the apple tv remote.
I had to click the button then push it again. Beats me walking to each light to turn them on.
You do not need to be pointing at them directly.

I have these outlets but the remote does not work. I've changed the battery but nothing. Anyone know if the light on the remote is suppose to come on. It does not on this remote.
