I'd consider jumping on this but Audio-Technica's annual warehouse sale at their US HQ is coming up in three weeks, and it's local to me. If you're in NE Ohio or want to splurge on some audio gear and don't mind driving to the Akron area, check it out. No guarantee they'll have any particular model on sale but they always have a wide variety of stuff, the prices are the best you'll find for A-T gear, and they do some giveaways. Info is on their site, just google "audio technica warehouse sale."

I had purchased the AT-LP60 for my father ....and I will say it didnt sound too bad for the price...I was impressed! It would seem this is a better model if so I would recommend it.

Just a warning that these have slight issues. Antiskate is almost non existant and I believe it's due to the tonearm wiring being too tight, that's why many have to upgrade the spring for it. Also you can't bypass the built in amp without rewiring. IMHO there's better options out there with less issues

This is pretty widely considered the best turntable for average consumer [thewirecutter.com]s, and especially at this price point. It's basically a replica of the famous Technics SL-1200. Also, pretty sure it offers a switch to bypass the pre-amp, plus there's thisdirectly on their website [audio-technica.com]: Built-in switchable phono pre-amplifier with RCA output cables . The one I had previously could switch.

I have a few turntables, including this one, and at this price point I certainly recommend it. I cant vouch for the speakers, but the table itself is very impressive for the price.
