Product Name: | GeForce GTX 1070 Ti AMP! Edition Graphics Card |
Product Description: | Based on NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 Ti AMP! Edition Graphics Card provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency over its predecessor, the high-performance Maxwell architecture. It also introduces innovative graphics features and technologies that redefine the computer as the platform for playing AAA games and taking full advantage of virtual reality via NVIDIA VRWorks. The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs. There are three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs in addition to an HDMI 2.0b output and a DVI-D Dual-Link output. The GTX 1070 Ti is not just about high-resolution gaming. Computationally intensive programs can utilize the GPU's 2432 cores to accelerate tasks using CUDA or other APIs. For cooling, ZOTAC implemented Dual Fan IceStorm cooling. It utilizes five variably sized heatpipes to maximize heat extraction from the core while the aluminum fin array disperses heat. It is also mounted with dual 100mm fans that amplify airflow and reduce noise. This graphics card also features Spectra, an advanced lighting system, which allows you to customize how your card looks. Utilize the redesigned FireStorm application to easily customize and set up your own color and lighting to suit your style. |

The bigger question might be will your power supply support it. If you have a custom-built PC, I would expect you to know this.. if you have a generic Dell, it likely won't. If you have an older gaming PC, there's a good chance it will. This card can draw ~235 watts by itself, and requires an available 8-pin PCIe power dongle.

Always try part picker I think it will tell you if there are hardware limitations, restrictions, or other issues. But for GPU's just looking at the mother board specs usually will give you a heads up on similar specs like socket type that are accepted, SLI support etc etc

I'm not an Nvidia fanboi at all. My last card was a 290x and while it worked well, it ran super hot. I just upgraded to the 1070ti and it runs so much cooler. I have a feeling between that 290x and the piledriver processor with all the heat and power consumption, it probably ly lead to my need to replace stuff earlier than anticipated. The 290x still works and it's a fine card, but I believe Nvidia wins on everything save for price at this time.
Yup and it'll be awhile!
