This used to be the going price; no clue why this keeps going up and up.

Solid router though; UniFi is awesome.

Good price if you can get B&H to price match.

If price matched, definitely grab one. Authorized dealer is a plus.

Man this USG PRO has been in back order and hard to find a good price. Thanks OP, got one because wanted more bandwidth for the IPS feature.

I was reading on the ubnt forum that if you max out the ram, you retain that 1Gbps throughput w/IPS enabled.

Sadly, like the smaller USG, this will throttle a gigabit broadband connection if you turn on IPS/IDS. You'll get about 300Mbps per Ubiquiti. Downvote away, it won't change the facts!

edit: corrected typo

You can use DPI with the USG at gigabit, only IPS restricts bandwidth because it turns off hardware offloading. I am running DPI on my regular USG and it runs my 1000/1000 connection fine. You need the XG-8 for gigabit IPS and that thing is hilariously expensive for home use.

There's actually multiple posts on the Ubiquiti forums saying that Ubiquiti were probably veering on the safe side for their estimates for both this and the regular USG. On this particular model, people have been getting closer to 700Mbps thoroughput with IPS/IDS turned on.

Do you have another link talking about the subject?

Any reason to get this over the smaller version for a home setup?

This is more RAM and better CPU, you'll also get better performance on many features, one specifically is IPS...but I've been using the USG (smaller version) and it has been a solid performer!

Really? How can you max out the ram?

You can add more ram to the pro. It takes DDR3L.
