Ah okay, I didn't know that the discounts that applied to the model kits ran that deep.
My concern is a noticed Barnes doesn't keep stock of individual kits for long and after watching online reviews for the Sazabi I was convinced I needed to get that particular kit. I didn't want to risk waiting later in the year and having it be sold out.

I had the same concern. Undoubtedly, it is the best Gunpla in 2018, and it's price in Japan has gone up, so I got it right away when I found it was actually available from B&N at a price below $30 after discount and cash back. Anyways, we cannot always get collectibles at a "reasonable" price, so just buy it when you want it.
50 bucks is normal price.

How does one know which gundam sets are good or even "the best?" Or are these characters the favorites from zome anime show?
Off topic. Are the instructions just pictures like ikea furniture and Lego? You just figure it out from the pictures in each step?

Gundam plastic models, or "Gunpla" as they're called, have a lot of factors that need considered in order to be good or the best. Things like the fit of the parts, how well the model can be posed after it's completed, and how fun it is to build the kit are just a few of the main considerations.
The instructions for building the kits are indeed picture based, but they're very intuitive in most instances. Personally, I've never had to guess if I was using the correct part or constructing something the wrong way.

Sounds like all else - have to check reviews.
Poseable means not all parts are glued? What glue is best? I'm assuming not krazy glue / kragle
