Just a friendly word of caution.
Oh, absolutely. Rating is ~500 usable with peaking at 700 reverse. I normally snug my lugnuts with my DeWALT impact driver (with 0 impacts on chrome-plated nuts since I don't have the lined sockets yet), lower to get traction, then snug by hand to 80 on all then 100 on all (both vehicles want 100 atm) with my 1/2" click stop Pittsburgh (whose ratchet is a little sloppy when I'm not gentle to engage its teeth as I've skinned my knuckles twice).

I'm still wanting to "exercise" it and some M14 bolts on scrap struts sounds nice. I'd like to see it impossibly tight, break free and possibly tighten until the bolt breaks. Big Grin

EDIT: and I've used an IR 2131(discontinued) and 2135TiMAX (top of the line and 30% lighter than the Earthquake) which can easily destroy things.

I recently posted a coupon for a 10 or 12 for $149 a page or three back. Cut n paste is a pain from the phone otherwise I'd look.

I got a set of Harbor Freight's torque-limiting extensions so I can put lug nuts on with the impact. They work really well -- at least according to the harbor freight torque wrench Wink

Don't remember how I did it, but I got them for about $35.

Not sure if this is something you're interested but there is a coupon for the 2 hp 8 gallon compressor. Here is the side by side (well sort of) from the HF site:

2.5 Horsepower, 10 Gallon, 125 PSI Air Compressor - 67708 - $144.99 <-- current online price

Motor: 120 volts, 14.1 amps, 60 Hz
Motor speed: 3400 RPM
Max working pressure: 125 PSI
Air delivery: 5.3 SCFM @ 90 PSI
6.2 SCFM @ 40 PSI
Air outlet: 1/4"-18 NPT
Sound level:
Cord length 6 ft.
Overall dimensions: 36''L X 22-1/4''W X 13-1/4''H
Shipping Weight: 72.00 lb.

2 Horsepower, 8 Gallon, 125 PSI Portable Air Compressor - 67501 <-- $109.99 coupon price*

Volts: 120V (60 Hz)
Amps: 15 start-up, 14 running
Motor speed: 3360 RPM
Max working pressure: 125 PSI
Air delivery: 4.5 SCFM @ 90 PSI,
5.5 SCFM @ 40 PSI
Air outlet: 1/4"-18 NPTF
Sound level: 88 dB
Cord length 6 ft. 5" Overall dimensions: 29.5" L x 13.5" W x 23.5" H
Shipping Weight: 66.15 lb.
* The coupon makes it only $6.00 or so below the current online price.

As for the 1/2" Twin Hammer Air Impact Wrench - 94803 I think you'll have to use the 20% off coupon on it. Brings it from $49.99 to $41.66. You could get out with the slightly smaller compressor and this wrench for $151.65 before taxes. Just a thought...
Thanks! Originally I wanted the 8 gallon but changed my mind since it has a much lower scfm and I want to be able to run an impact which is now why I would like the 10gallon.

Can you use the 20% off coupon with another item?

say I'm getting the 6 ton jack stands with a coupon for $29.99 but I also want to get a 11 gal air tank which is like $39 can I use my 20% off or no?

because I see the jack stands say can't be used with any other coupon so that means the 20% right?

Yes, you can do that. You just can't stack the coupons (i.e., use a 20% and a coupon on a single item). You also can't use more than one free item coupon per transaction, or more than one 20% off. You can use a free and a 20% at the same time, of course.

Also:
1) Don't bother clipping anything if you like collecting available paper coupons. Make them then scratch out the freebie/percent off with a pen/marker. The others they won't bother.
2) Coupon policy (in store) states you can't use coupons on prior purchases (even though many coupons allude to this being an option). Instead, take advantage of their return policy but just don't do the new purchase and the return of the old item(s) too close. Morning versus night or different days help.

Any experiences with their manifold gauge set?

http://www.google.com/url?q=http:....html&sa=U

Repair shop wants far too much, might try it myself.

Does anyone have the coupon for the manifold AC Gauge for $35? The coupon code itself would suffice for me.

Thanks!

Yeah.

Thing is, my circuits are all on 15 or 20 amp breakers. The onboard breaker (which is supposed to be 15 amps, AFAIK) is superfluous. It's a convenience so you don't have to go to the fuse box when it trips.
I see what you're talking about now...

Oh, haha--I see what you thought. My bad. Yeah it'd be pretty crazy to jump the house circuit breaker to run a compressor. It's just the cheapo harbor freight breaker on the compressor that went bad.

Right, wasn't sure exactly where the jumper was and couldn't quite figure out how you would be jumping a breaker in your service panel EEK!. I agree with the redundancy factor but would be interested to figure out whether or not you have a weak breaker or if something else was to blame. Sounds like you may need a coupon for one of these bounce (if you don't already own one):

I've never used them before but I like the concept. Going rate online is $70 for a set which I might use 1 or 2 out of so it may be tough to justify unless I could run across a deal like you did. It would be nice if they offered these individually as well.

BTW: you mileage will vary on those extensions. Variables will include the particular impact wrench, air pressure behind it and how hard you're hitting. Always check to ensure it's in tune with what you use and how you use it (which it sounds like you have). When designed, their ratings are in tune (just like a tuning fork) to a particular impact.
