What do people mostly use torque wrenches for? I've managed to get thru my life of frequent repairs and tinkering without ever needing one.
It didn't used to matter so much unless you were building an engine, but modern equipment is often lighter weight (both in thickness and material) so proper torques are becoming more and more essential.
The most common use for a torque wrench is probably for lug nuts. Also important for any bolts that are screwed into an engine's head or block. And torque is critical on modern bicycles where too tight quickly leads to stripped threads in expensive lightweight parts and too loose means those parts fall off.
