Hokay, many of you know how ancient ol' INAA is, but I'll (carbon) date myself even further by saying that when I was a youngster living in Southern California, my favorite ice cream used to be from the Thrifty drug store counter. Back when Thrifty was THE drug store chain. Their ice cream scooper made it into nifty little cylinders, not the regular old blobs you'd get everywhere else; never have seen such a scooper before or since. Is Rite Aid using something similar?

Also, for you Californians of a certain vintage...remember Farrell's Ice Cream (where we always lied and said it was our birthday, just to get the special treatment---and C.E.C. can kiss Farrell's right smack dab on the ass, 'cause Farrell's had like flashing lights and a siren and a whole big production (kinda like Applebee's or Hooters, but WAY better).

Oh, weird, did we grow up together? I transplanted to WA State, but grew up in SoCal! In high school we hung out at a strip mall that had a Swensen's, and I LOVED the Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice cream!

Remember the Pig Trough at Farrell's? The servers made some sort of commotion when bringing that thing out and it was HUGE! And yep, always a birthday in our party....LOL!

Are you familiar with Naugle's? Best Green Burritos around, too bad Del Taco won't go retro and bring back some Naugle's menu items. I forgot all about Pioneer chicken, but I know we had some of those nearby.

New here? You should actually read the thread. Slowtech donates alot of time to recap important posts, so people don't have to read through tons of BS to find good deals.

They aren't asking for reps for doing the recap, in fact, just the opposite....making sure the readers rep the person from the original post which the recap is quoting.

All slowtech is saying is that she does not want the reps for the info in the recaps--- And to rep to OP. I think it is nice of her to remind everyone to rep the OP if you read something in her recap post that is helpful. slowtech is not begging for reps.

Hey I remember getting ice cream from the counter at the Thrifty's Drug store (in the cylinder shape) in San Diego and I am not that old!!! You can still get it from some of the counters here at Rite Aid (same cool shape scooper) the price has just gone up now!!!

I do remember Farrell's. We often went there for my B day when I was young! I don't remember the taste of the ice cream, just the "fancy to do" they would do for your b day.

Anyway, I survived. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It wasn't TOO horrible. It was crowded, but was getting crazier as we were leaving. Good thing the parties are only 1 1/2 hrs. DD had a great time, that's all that matters anyway.
