This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

nod Yeah, they said 10-14 days post op and we are on day 12. I keep looking at the incision and I am not sure it is ready, so we shall see when I get there. I am a little nervous, bc I am going to my hometown doc instead of the neuro surgeon. They said I could go to either, but the neuro guy is all the way in SF. And all md's learn how to remove the staples, right?!?!Embarrassment I mean, idk if the doc will even be the one to do it, I am trained to do it as well, though I have never done head ones, and would never be able to do my own staples. So yeah, a little nervous to say the least laugh out loud
My son got a staple in his head a couple years ago...the dr kinda hinted around that if it *happened* to fall out at home it would be ok, as we were leaving he gave us a removal tool. There was no way that I could do that to my baby, SO ended up doing it. He said we could make an appt. if we wanted. So to answer the question, I think any MD or un-MD can remove a staple.

My brother had brain surgery when he was 16 or 17. They missed a couple of stitches when they removed them. My sister and I removed the fishing line that had scalp basically grown over it with pedicure scissors. She went on to be a nurse, I went on to be grossed out. Sick

Thanks dear! I was just trying to be close with you all. Big Grin Just be happy I didn't show you the pics laugh out loud I did show them in the SF group and to a few others, lets just say I won't be entering any beauty contests this year Wink That's ok, living a long full life with my family is sooo much more important than how I look nod

So I am back. It went ok. A little painful, but not too bad. My hubby earned points, he let me squeeze his hand the whole time. Started out sitting up, but then I felt faint so I had to lay down to get the rest out. My doc made a comment about how it was the wrong time of year for this since I didn't get to use my scars/staples as part of a halloween costume laugh out loud Gotta love her!!
Had to lay there for a while after I was done. Still dizzy. Then walked slowly out to the car. Got almost there and felt like I was really gonna faint. Vision went funny, saw veins and spots. Lots of pressure on the eyes and ears. J just stood there with me, holding me up until it passed. He is a good boy! Tried to walk a bit more, realized that wasn't happening, so he got me safely down to the ground and he went for the car. Parked illegally to get me in and pissed off some stupy truck driver, some ppl Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Anyways, now I am reclining on the coach relaxing. Smilie
