Update: The premium plan is now $45 before autopay discount, but no longer includes Uber credits. For those that don't use Uber, but pay for Amazon Prime, that now makes this plan the best deal.

Sprint reached out and tells us that the link in the OP is outdated and this one https://community.sprint.com/t5/E...-p/1033393 is the newer, corrected one.
I didn't want to edit the OP but if the OP wanted to edit to have this link.. that would be great.

Note: Sprint stated they were in the process of of migrating all SERO accounts to SWAC, so you can either initiate the move yourself if you wish, or wait until they eventually get to your account.

Here is the dedicated customer service email. [email protected]
When I last used it, they took a full day to reply, but did so personably and thoroughly.

Got an Iphone Xs Max with 18 month lease and Iphone 6 trade in offer on my SERO plan last fall. Will switching to SWAC affect the monthly credit?
As far as I can tell, yes. You will lose the monthly credits. I have 2 months worth of credit left so I am waiting that out as a result. If anyone has experienced otherwise please chime in.

...and speaking of phones...I know the initial "activation" is free on SWAC...but what about after that? Can you switch between phones at will without having to pay an activation fee each time? You used to be able to on SERO a long time ago, and could do it right from the website simply typing in the ESN for the phone you want active. I did this a few times. Then I guess they started charging for each change...or at least implied it with sneaky wording making it sound like you would be charged, last I looked at doing that (still awhile back).

Seems to me, if they aren't going to subsidize the equipment, they should allow you to switch between devices all you want that you own, aren't blacklisted/other carrier locked, etc.

So fake unlimited with potential data throttling in trade for cheaper plan and/or lots of perks?

Seems like a downgrade (most of us are increasing data usage more than the voice functions) and yet I'm still tempted.

Hotspots have saved my ass during service outages and blackouts in the past, so that's a great perk. SERO users already get Hulu, it's just a $6 value but it's a lovely perk. I wish I wasn't paying for Amazing already. They've certainly sweetened the pot.

SERO 500 has treated me very well in Northern California and NYC. Very few issues compared to family with other providers. I have gripes, but the only consistently real downside has been the end of 2 year contract subsidized phones, and the leasing deals really didn't mesh with SERO pricing. I'm past due to upgrade.

Whenever I looked for newer plan options, the unlimited data was impossible to replace...and not because I used absurd amounts of data but because I don't want to have to think about it. Data caps are a pain in the ass.

..so yeah, better package, but a potential downgrade with the most important feature. Hmmm.

That is too bad if I will lose credit from previous trade-in and it does not make sense to me. I guess I will wait to see if Sprint chooses to convert my plan on its side (I heard that Sprint will convert all SERO plans to SWAC this year).

I've been with Sprint since beginning of 1998, with the same phone number. ;-)

does this make sense for someone who already pays for prime to go with the premium version? I have the $50 sero and already pay for prime, so I am wondering if I do the premium one with prime, does that theoretically save me about $10 a month or so? (by not having to pay for prime to amazon) I think I read on Reddit that you would get credited back your prime prorated payment, and then start the "free" sprint version?

You could do $30 option + $10 a month (annually) = $40, which is less than the $60 you pay right now

You could do $50 option, including prime, and you're all in for $50, which is less than the $60 you pay right now

I guess the question is whether the $10 difference is worth it to you for bigger hotspot, etc.

edit: i also think the $50 is a no brainer if you use Uber, as the current promotion gives you $20 a month in uber credits ($10 x 2) for the next 12 months.

so should we be switching over to swac or sero or is there anything better out now that would blow both out of the water?
Sorry, I can't answer your question. I've been away from SERO for the last 2 years or so and don't want to give you any misinformation. There's plenty of other experts on SERO in here some new, some not so new. Listen to them and good luck.
