Sprint reached out and tells us that the link in the OP is outdated and this one https://community.sprin t.com/t5/E...-p/1033393 is the newer, corrected one.
I didn't want to edit the OP but if the OP wanted to edit to have this link.. that would be great.

I'm on SERO Premium 500 and want to convert to the Premium SWAC. Currently using a Galaxy S4 with a Sprint SIM card, but I have a new unlocked Galaxy S10e that I want to switch over to.
(1) going from SERO to SWAC, the only thing I care about is that the roaming onto Verizon for voice and data will still be fully included. I spend a lot of time in an area where it's mostly Verizon only. Does SWAC roam just like SERO? Yes I realize that the T-Mobile merger will probably ruin everything eventually.
(2) I am assuming I should convert the plan first than swap devices, yes? Can I just transfer the SIM from my S4 to the S10e, or do I need a new SIM from Sprint?
(3) can I do the conversion just by clicking the top button on that web page, i.e.,
https://sprint.custhelp
or do I need to email a Sprint rep because it's the SERO 500?
Thanks, looking forward to upgrading from my ancient phone and plan.

On question 2, you will need to get a new SIM as the S4 uses a micro SIM whereas the S10e needs a nano SIM. (Even if the SIMs were the same size, you might still need a new SIM as the nano SIM from my wife's Pixel 2 was not compatible with my old Nexus 5X when she had to send the Pixel in for a warranty repair.)
On the first part of question 2 (i.e., whether to convert to SWAC before swapping devices), I don't know that it matters. What I do know is that, after I switched to SWAC I was--for the first time--able to do a phone swap using the online system whereas I was never able to do that with SERO. On SERO I always had to use chat or call in to swap phones. I don't know if that's because of a change in their system, or because I was no longer on SERO.
As to question 3, I think you can just use that web portal to start the swap process.

LEND ME YOUR THOUGHTS!!
currently on year 14 of SERO. was just presented the swac offer (in order to get an S10 or note10 for $15/mo)
the specs on the plan look good!
except i dont use tidal tinder uber or amazon
i dont need hotspot since i have it activated on my essential phone.
so really the only positive is the price $35 vs $50 ($40 + 10)
the only negative i see is bragging rights for being on SERO (personal xbox achievement haha..) and i am able to get credits almost religiously now...
will the verizon merger skew with anything later?
but couldnt same be said for sero?
I upgraded my Note 8 almost a year and half ago on Sero and it gave me the same message online that I would need to change my plan. I called Sprint Telesales and I was able to upgrade and stay on Sero. Same thing happened when I upgraded from the Note 7. I am now getting ready to upgrade again, got the same message I called Sprint and CSR assured me that there would not be a problem. Right after that she offered to switch my account to a SWAC account.
Did you sign up for the 35 dollar or the 55 dollar plan?
