But I would prefer quality sheets with some wrinkles, over some that have a chemical (at the fiber level) to smooth out the wrinkles. Which (pure assumption) will wear off over time...

I have seen nothing not have the warning in not even sure there is anything. I'm not sure why they have warning there when they give everything a warning.

It's not the cotton that's the problem but the chemicals used to treat/prepare it. If it really bothers you, just wash the sheets before you use them the first time.
