I saw this and passed on it. I need something to remove surface scratches and this ain't it.
So you need a buffer and some compound.

If you want to do it right then get this and follow up with polish then some wax or sealant.

This is too old school and got replaced by easier to use products that give you the exact same results in a quarter of the time. Clay is a good way to waste a good portion of the day though.

Yes but the other products are more expensive

So what is the "New School" method to remove surface contaminants on paint?

Sorry stepped away from the computer. Clay mitt and synthetic towels now do all the heavy work. Best part is they are reusable and you dont have to worry about dropping them. They work exactly the same way, you can even do the baggie test to confirm.

https://www.amazon.com/Nanoskin-A...way&sr=8-4

One of the ones I use, but amazon has tons of them cheaper from different brands. Just make sure you follow the first time prep use instructions about breaking the mitt in first. The few low ratings are from idiots that clearly didnt know how to read.

Good deal OP. Synthetic clay has some benefits, but the real stuff still works better in some places, like wheels. Having both is good.

I've tried the clay mitt or sponges. And am back to bars. The new methods are very light duty

Nothing beats OG clay method. I use light compund and a foam pad after then go over it with a Polish .. hand wax all done.
